minaranjo - while I agree with your point to a great degree, I am afraid that you are dealing in absolutes which weakens your point somewhat. Of course file sharing is theft but many artists also use morally debatable methods to distribute their tracks in the first place. This very website is one of the key players in this practice. It may be illegal but it is socially acceptable hence the reason almost all of us do it. Have you never copied a tune from cd or recorded a movie from the tv?

if you want to download rare dance tunes. download soulseek. go to google type it in and download it. it takes a while to download the songs but its worth it. its what us dj's use if we dont have the funds to keep buying new mp3

Fortunately for those who do the right thing, the price isn't 110,000 pounds... it's about $1.50.

No what soulseek offers is that someone has bought the artists files and there sharing their files with you. so if my mate buys a a snickers and shares it with me does that mean im stealing from the shopkeeper?

First of all, you don't know if the person who's sharing the file bought it legitimately or got it from someone else on soulseek. secondly, the snickers example is just as inaccurate as the ferrari example. if your mate buys a CD, makes a copy of it and gives (or uploads) it to you, then yes, you would be stealing and your mate would be an accessory to a crime.

Plus if i am in close contact with the users of soulseek that i get my mp3's from and know there purchasing it from a legitimate mp3 store, beatport etc then realy it just comes down to whats morally correct... to you obviously you have to pay for everything in the world whereas i believe i speak for most when i say whats wrong with getting something for free?

There is nothing wrong with expanding your collection with people willing to share with you. Surely having access to really good quality house music enables those who know to escape from the mass produced commercial electronic clap trap being peddled to the masses?
