surely everyone knows that scuba stands for 'self contained underwater breathing apparatus'... ok I'll be honest, I only know that due to a particularly memorable episode of Family Ties in 1986 where Michael J Fox went onto a TV quiz show and this was one of the questions he froze on. his not so bright sister then came up with the answer.
