I remember my parents taking me to this one place in Dallas to meet ET when he was going on some kind of national tour too.  Do they still do those types of tours for kids? E.T. was the first movie I saw in the theaters. I think I was 5 years old. Still remember it to this day. One of the best.

As far as this re-issue bullcrap...I totally agree with you. STOP messing with classics. I'm tired of seeing all these stupid remakes such as Halloween, Friday The 13th, etc. All they're doing is trying to make these classics more "hip" for the newer generations. If they remake "The Breakfast Club", I'm a be real pissed. I think this world is becoming "Idiocracy."

my sister, who is 27 now, was completely terrified of ET. She had nightmares, and til this day, is still terrified of ET. I personally find it hilarious, but when I watched ET for the first time, it was quite emotional for me, I was scared for him, but my sister was just freaked out.
