Thank you so much Mike! I don't have a band, not even a foot drum like Adam Gussow. But it's always good to know. You never know!!

  • Great lesson! I am going to buy a Horner in D. Is there much difference between the two types you mention??? Thanks- Great Postings!

  • Thanks. Yes the Low D has a much darker tone and is more difficult to play than the other one

  • Cool playing! Cool güiro too...

  • This is fantastic good. I really like this kind of music. Rock on many more years and Let's Boogie :)

  • Thanks & don't forget to boogie!

  • Your style is fantastic. I am just learning mostly through utube and a few beginner books. doesnt seem to be to many harp teachers in my area which is a real bummer. any way just wanted to say thanks for the lessons

    Todd

  • Thanks Todd!

    Hakan

  • I'm impressed by your awesome talent with the "mouth organ" and happy to know that Muddy Waters is still appreciated. I saw him and had the privilege of a little hanging out with him for a bit a few years before his death. He's an icon and awesome and wherever he is, he's loving your music...I just know it! You play one of the best harmonicas I've heard. I mention Muddy here because I'm not yet your friend and didn't know exactly where to post this. I'm now rockin' to Harmonica Blues. Wow!

    Nancy

  • Holy shit, awesome video and great sound. Definitely need to add this song to my repertoire. :)

    Great work as always Hakan.

  • Thanks!

  • Man, another great video. You are really helping me to expand my thinking about what is possible with a harmonica! This weekend I am going to go shopping for gear! You are an inspiration. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • This is just great... The production value on the track is great... As a fellow self-produced passionate musician/harpist.. I have to say this is superb! I think you are doing amazing things for the harmonica and your music is rocking! I first saw the old whistle test jam that I learned for you and tried to do a tutorial on it as well... How did you get the drum tracks, and what tools do you use? You have a very unique sound, and are a great presence on the YouTube!! amaweszome! 6*

  • Thanks for your very nice comments!

Bass & drum track was created in BOSS BR-1200CD digital recording studio. The drums 0:00-0:08 are presets in my BOSS. From 0:08 I also play "percussion egg & cucumber" shown in the video.

You really do cool harmonica lessons!!

  • one of the best of your jobs, including the video.

    1.52 to 2.30 : great post-Popper kind of playing

    O.

    Jarek K

  • Thank you Jarek!

    Hakan

  • I love your sound and ability as a medicore player can you tell me how to find music tracks to play with.

  • Thanks! Since I make my own tracks Ihaven´t searched for backing tracks. So I don´t know where to find them. Try to youtube search for "backing track".

  • Fantastic! I've been subscribing to your channel on my other youtube account for quite some time and am always happen to see you post another video. As a fellow musician, I've got a lot of respect for your abilities. I've just lately started playing the harmonica and maybe some day I can be as good as you! Keep it up.

  • WOW !

Great Playing Hakan, it sounds good with the 2 harps.

    Friendly :

    Steph.

  • Thank you Steph!

    Hakan

  • yes it feels good. first i tried with a G harp in third pos and also A harp in 1st pos in high register together with a Dlow. But for this i think this was the right combination.

  • Fantastic Hakan - you just keep getting better - thanks

  • Thank you!

  • WICKED

  • Hakan this was unbelievable!. I can hear the RL Burnside influence. I have his COME ON IN cd. I think you do too and this is the one that influenced you. By the way if you have that cd I wonder if you ever tried to play IT'S BAD YOU KNOW. It has great harmonica on it and this is one song that you could sing. I would love to hear you do it.

Thanks for this video, it is one of your best.

  • And thank you! Yes I have tried that song "it´s bad..." and it´s a very nice harp there. It´s only one who can sing it good I think and that is RL Burnside. COME ON IN is very good and he also plays RollinTumlin on the CDs BURNSIDE ON BURNSIDE, A BOTHERED MIND and the maxi single ROLLIN' TUMBLIN' with 3 different versions. They are all very very good if you like this kind of groove

  • Suveränt spelat, vilket drag.

  • Tack!

  • Maybe English is the proper language in this thread.

Are you doing any live performance in Stockholm?

  • WOW!!!! This song has been in the back of my mind for the past few weeks since I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny Winter, who played a killer version of this song, but YOURS is my new favorite!!!!I especially love the call/response, and the way you show that Low D that you ain't taking crap from it's hard to bend reeds! And the end of the video...from now on I'm going to call you Hakan Egg! Rock On Brotha!

  • Thanks for your nice comments! Yes Johnny Winter is one of my heroes and he played it much faster (when he was in shape). This groove is from another of my favourites, RL Burnside.

  • yeah!!!

  • Truly Awesome, You keep amazing and inspiring me.

  • Great to hear!
