In this game after Whites move Knight to E7 check and black moves King to F8, White moves by Rook taking the Bladk queen at D2. Isn't a better move for White Knight takes pawn at G6 check! The queen can be taken after that.
When Fischer was at his peak, he was so far above the other top players of his day, and he crushed them so handily, that the Russians actually suspected him of having psychic powers that crippled his opponents. In other words, we know who he is, we're just not certain of what he is. There can be no higher compliment!
i think that could be spassky's worst game ever...he played like an amateur...i believe he had no choice but to sacrifice the exchange otherwise he would not get any counterplay....the blunder was the move 19...Nd7
he could have played 19..h5 or 19...Qh5 or 19...Qf5 with the idea of a quick kingside attack with his pieces...after move 19 Fischer just shows ''high quality'' of technique!!!!!!

@pj2105 After Nxg6+ hxg RxQ bishop moves, material is even.
with the line played: RxQ KxN RxB, white is up an exchange (2 pawns)

fischer would've demolished Karpov.

to be honest, fischer never impressed me as much as some of his fanboys. Spassky just blundered horribly here.

If Bxc4 then Bxf6, Bxf6 and then Qxc4.

At 2:05 couldn't Spassky have won a pawn with Bxc4 point being if Qxc4 then Qxg5.
Maybe that would be refuted by Ne4 but then its complicated for instance Nxe4. I would have liked to have seen this explained in more depth.
But nice videos by the way.

Great analysis. You made it easy for a patzer like me to understand their moves. Thanks!
