  • I'm having trouble. It seems that when I paste one of the 5 pieces into the new picture it is too big and doesn't fit. I have triple checked that the new canvas size is 97pxx68px and the cut I am pasting into it is 97pxx68px but it isn't fitting into the new canvas. Is this a CS glitch?

  • very easy guide of how to create your own banner thanks!!

  • any1 know how to merge all the layers

  • @TheAwesome1Online Save it as a JPEG then open that photo in Photoshop, then if it makes you, just re-do the guides, then follow the steps from there, thats what I did.

  • add str8media -wordpress-com

  • Logged in just to give this video a Like. Great tutorial, thanks! :)

  • You mister, are AWESOME!!!!!! :D VID LIKED AND FAVORITED :D

  • This is a nice tutorial, but using the slice tool would have been so much quicker and simplier... simply select the whole image as one slice, then right click on the slicge (the image) and divide the slice in 5 even slices... then save for web and you will find all images in a 'images' sub folder ready to go.

  • great, nicely done

  • thank you !

  • Pretty tight, made some dank banners, thanks for the tutorial.

I used InDesign to design, Photoshop to crop and grid.

  • Great tutorial but is it possible to do this on a FB Page? The page for my band seems to put the images up randomly no matter how I tag them or arrange them. Thanks for any info.

  • Very nice video...explaining the creation of the Facebook Banner

  • I did this. You dont need PS. I did it in MS paint just fine. you just have to watch your measurements a bit more carefully

  • Thanks much, nice to get help out from cyber space!

  • thank you that was very helpful!!

  • I tried this 3 times and it muddled the banner up and I went from the last no. to the No. 1 and it still kept doing it Frustrating

  • What program you have to download for it ?

  • Did you downLoaded Photoshop For Free ? if so, can you pLease tell me how did you do that ?' =) thanks...

  • Awesome vid, helped a ton. Thanks!

  • THANK you, you're awesome

  • you deserve more than a THUMBS UP! <3

  • nice1, thnx

  • Awesome!

  • Great video -- thanks!

BTW, "marquee" is pronounced "mar-kee," not "mark"

  • i uv this i made it during the video i feel so achieved:D

  • You have an 'only for you :)' album on your facebook? XD

Well, you don't actually have to make 5 different windows, just one's enough and save every layer. Next to that, saving images on your desktop will only make your computer run slow...

  • This worked awesomely!!! Great explaining. I know nothing about photoshop but I could do this! :)

  • Awesome tutorial, awesome guy and a awesome! Keep up the good work!

  • So just create 1 SLICE, divide by 5, save out at images! Less work.

  • Ok it sounds like you're saying "Bee-ex"

  • Your wrong, the real size is 493 x 68

    That's the real size.

  • nice ! tnx for it!

  • dude thanx allot but the problem is i suck with photoshop XD

but i made it any way

  • Thanks alot man, i didnt want to download it from a 3 party. I hate the adds they put on your banner. Thanks.

  • Bad thing is that facebook now randoms the picture on the pages every time - at least for non-personal pages :-(

  • dude how can i design the pic? i mean after you launch the box 0:29 then ur image comes out:S i cant do the same:/ i am newb on photoshop so i need some tips:)

  • is that paint?

  • @GTAboy241 no. its photoshop. he said that.

  • how do you merge them all together as 1 jpeg file?

  • When i refresh photos are changing the order...what i need to do?

  • Thank you! I made mine in paint one rectangle at a time, used the pixel sizes you gave us. I enjoyed the video and your pleasant voice!

  • facebook doesnt let you upload images lower than 180 pixels wide now. ive been making banners for a long time and now it screws you over.

  • nice trick! but what if other people tag u... dont their pix show up there?

  • This was a very helpful tutorial that allows you to get a custom banner without giving some nuisance app access to your Facebook page.

  • i do the same thing with one change I use paintshop and I set up a grid 97X 68 I also use snap to grid. this help with chipping out picture

  • @JaiimeChan You could do this in any program just as long as the images are the right size!

  • great u saved my life xd

  • you sir are awesome, thanks for the tutorial <3

  • Thanks Man!! but the Real Size is 493x68 right??BTW Thanks!!

  • this dose not seem to work for fan pages / groups...it only works for person profile pages for some reason.....if you try to do this for a page the image will be randomized and not apear in order for some reason......anyone know a fix for this?

  • i cant be fucked listening to this guy.. why couldnt he brifly explain everything for 1 minute.

  • @324fender Well I did everything as he went, but i did pause at some points. I used fireworks and photoshop to make it all.

  • Thanks man, worked perfectly!

  • tnx.. a lot !! ur a big help..

  • I will be doing this tomorrow :)

  • ThX man !

  • you're the best man... I'm perfectly fine doing this.. but i use Pixlr.. not Photoshop :)

  • For a second I thought you were FPSRUSSIA

  • baddass! thanks so much!

  • But as soon as someone tag you in other pic, all this work gonna move one block till disappear. =(

  • @felipipi yeah that's the sad part :P but then you can remove the tags, and just retag all those photos. it's a hassle but it's still nonetheless keeps them in place

  • I think this was an excelent tutorial and would highly recomend it Robert Harris

  • dude nice name you like swedish or something? that name is awsome

  • @meanmugg3r thank you :) im russian...

  • @AtajanProductions im swedish, and noone in all of sweden is named atajan lol

  • @AtajanProductions im swedish :D

  • The best thing about making your own is fbanner.com isn't going to be farming your data, and who knows what they do with it or who it may be sold to?

  • This is such an amazing video tutorial. Adapted your stuff to GIMP and took the suggestion of another comment to use the built-in slicing ability. Thanks

  • Really Helpful Bro!

    Thank you for this!

    Instructions were easy to follow..

(ahm, can you put the dimensions in guide making?)..

  • thanks!

  • apparently this will not work on fan pages :( nice guide though

  • what the keybored shortcut for the guide lines?

  • Thank you soo much :-)

  • 1) Love your voice

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks alot ^^

  • Did they change how this works? I can't get it to stay in the correct order...

  • @cougnix I can't get mine on my page to stay in order but the ones on my personal still will.

  • @cougnix Ack I just found out it randomizes the photos on Pages but not personals. :(

  • nice

  • thanks bro

  • WOw the easiest way to do it .. everybody online makes it so hard .. to do or just to post a video thanks for the details also of how you do the numbers..thanks for the help im going to be posting mine up today.

  • Thank's

  • so exciting

  • @AtajanProductions Hey idiot, its called "a banner" not "banner" listen to what you say.

"...new popular thing that's called banner"

    Learn to speak english

  • Thanks, works perfectly.

  • its koooooooool buddy thaxzzzz

  • Thanks a bunch for the tutorial! For those that can't get their hands on photoshop, I did this like a boss on irfanview. Although it was a little hard.

  • what happens when people tag you in photos? Do you have to sit there and retag yourself all over again?

  • @Drillogicaldrummer You can hide the photos they tag you in on your banner thing. if you mouse over the corner of the picture they tagged you in that you don't want, a little X will appear, and you can hide the photo.

  • fantastic tutorial! one question: what order is the tagging for fan pages? i tried but they came out jumbled. thanks!

  • what if you don't have a Mac? What do you do then? I have a dell! Can you help me? this didn't help at all!

  • @JBJL123 why didn't this video help you at all?? this is a tutorial ob how to get the desired effect in cs5, cs3, cs4.. and whats not having a mac got to do with it?? cs5, cs3, cs4 all come on PC, and the video above is done on a Windows based PC.. "look at the start bar"............

  • @morphshag but mine didn't come with any of that...its a different computer and I don't have much installed...I couldnt get it to work in cs3 4 or 5. but I made one but I can't figure out how to get a different background besides solid colors...I'm 11 so I'm not the best but I'm pretty good with computers.

  • thx bro .. :D

  • you do know after you put the guide lines down all you have to do is use the slice tool on each box and then click "save to web & devices." this automatically cuts them into 5 individual jpg images with the original banner and puts them all in a folder for you.

  • @canadamaster i do know now :)

  • @canadamaster Can you do this on Elements? I don't see "Save to Web & Devices" !

  • Can i do that on Ms Paint ?

  • @armedziak no

  • @armedziak Yeah you can, at the bottom of your screen it should give you dimensions, "something x something px" (the somethings will be numbers :P)

Just make that 97*68 and that's one of your pictures :) make 5 of these next to each other, and voila :)

  • @Waabbitt oh yee thx man you really helped me :)

  • Nice guide, thank you very much, take care! =)

  • speak english!

    19 years oooooollllld

  • @AtajanProductions do you know if this technique should work for a FB page, as opposed to a profile? I followed your steps and everything worked except the photos did not show up in the correct order.

  • @tonyopp I think it works the same, make your you tag the photos in reverse order, so that you tag the part that's supposed to be on the right first, and the part on the left, last :)

  • 485 px? or 45?

    by 65 i dont understand

  • The dimensions are,

485 * 68 px for your main picture (before you cut it into 5)

    97 * 68 px for your 5 rectangular segments :)

That means guidelines at 97 px, 194 px, 291 px and 388 px. :)

  • so cool I always wondered how u do this thank you =D

  • he ain't got a banner XD

  • because everyone has photoshop, right bro?

  • @xWeBecameTheSunx i got it.... go to piratebay and download it and don't be lazy paint lover...

  • @GraphicsXx I think his point was that he didn't want to pirate it, y'know, since it's illegal and all ;)

  • @Waabbitt so what? i got flash, photoshop, illustrator and dreamweaver "illegal".... i got over 200 movies download, more then 20 games....

what's your point evey1 does it

  • @GraphicsXx I think you mis-read my post ;) I didn't specifically oppose it did I?

No. I said that I 'Thought' HIS point was that HE didn't want to pirate it, and then I pointed out a probable reason as to why he didn't want to, because it's illegal. But hey, I could be wrong, who gives a shit?

@ atajan, sorry for the flame, and thanks for the informative video :)

  • @Waabbitt you can get a free trail of 30 days on the adobe website....

  • THANKS BRO

  • Why not just use the slice tool, create a slice of the whole image, divide the slice vertically by 5, and save for web and devices? You could cut this video down to 2 minutes.

  • I had to re-watch the beginning part 3 times, and full-size it to understand you said 485x68... at first I thought you said 45x68. Geeeezzz you snuck that 8 in there like a BOSS.

  • @3Solstice LOLL exactly what i heard

  • @3Solstice Thanks, i couldnt understand at all!

  • @3Solstice lol, yeah says it like 3 times later in the video aswell.

  • Very helpful. :)
