@cullen823 Are you kidding? The name Alucard, the Dracula thing, in storyline sure it was its own. But main character wise it was a knock off, if at the very least in title. Btw, I would like to remind you that Castlevania came out a good eleven years before Hellsing did. As for the cartoon, I'd advise against it. In my opinion, Hellsing is an overrated knock off.

I never said they were alike in story, up read if you doubt that. I said names of vampires, protagonist who slays vamps, and the reversal of Dracula to make the name Alucard, were done first by Castlevania. Kind of funny how when Hellsing came out that they seemed to have a bunch of similarities in those fields. Makes sense if you humor it.

I myself am not one to chastise something until I have read/watched it. I have read the manga, and watched the original series along with two episodes of that rehash OVA. I still stand by my opinion.

Hellsing as a whole is an over glorified neo-goth kids wet dream resulting from playing Castlevania the night before and eating pizza and candy right before bed.
