i just got a hold of 2 zenith tvs, a 75cm zenith advanced system 3 from 1989, and a 43cm zenith system 3 unknown manufacture date, i found them both on the side of the road and neither of them work, although i am DESPERATLY trying to fix the big 75cm advanced system 3 it is an AWESOME tv that is just LOADED with features
nice i had a zenith flormodel cant remember the model but it had a flip down touch pad volume chanel numpad etc and stereo speakers looked nice and had some damn powerful speakers for a tv
I used to have a TV very similar to this, only it wasn't a system 3, just a standard Zenith but the tuning was the same where you had to preset the UHF channels. The tuner on mine was a little shakey because the station would drift, or it wouldn't tune at all without flipping the dial back and forth. Then the picture tube was starting to go because the focus was getting blury. I gave it away to cherities about 4 years ago. May have an early video of it that I can post if I can find it.
Very cool all around! From the classic set to Beavis n butthead, pretty cool. My parents used to have a 1974 GE color 14", that thing was like a tank, even though I never cared for GE. Still, +5 on the TV, man.
I had a large outdoor antenna setup a one time. Aim it just right and VHF channels from some 60 miles away would come in as clear as local ones but a UHF one ( channel 59 ) about 10 miles away was nearly impossible to bring in. snowy as could be with an antenna of any length.
Zenith has made very good TV's back in the 60's, 70's (they were very good handcrafted televisions) and early 80's (those with the special Tri-Focus Picture tubes with two differnt focus voltages) They were very good televisions with very sharp pic tubes and the picture was extremely sharp!!!
What a pity the quality of newre models is slipping away onto the 90's
With govt coupons, people will be able to obtain up to 2 special digital decoder boxes as cheaply as $10 each after the coupon depending on which box you buy. All seem to do the job. I'm not a big fan of cable myself. As long as there by PBS and video recording media, I'll get by.

That is a beautiful TV. I would take that TV in a heartbeat. I love vintage TVs and love to fix them. Keep that TV it is not a piece of shit.

Looks like a 68cm set (35inch to the USA!) VCR replay looked great for a TV of that age!
