When she emailed me, she always started out with "Hey girl".....she passed away last July, the day after her 20th anniversary and her sons 18th birthday. The song was played at her funeral. I lost my only sister in a car accident. She was only 26 and I was 27 at the time. I am now middle-age and so often think of her; the things we would have shared together, how often I have needed to hear her sweet voice and laughter; sharing our children and own childhood memories. It angers me to hear of sisters who have not spoken for years due to anger and pride. It's petty in the scheme of things. Sisters are priceless treasures and we will not always have each other. Cherish the time.

@teenyweenygenie So very well said. My sister was in a really bad accident when she fell asleep coming home from work one day and barely missed hitting an 18-wheeler head on. Thankfully she hit one of the truck tires. After she was taken to the hospital and we got her home, I sat on my back porch and cried. I realized how quickly she could have been taken away from me. I thank God everyday for letting her be a part of my life. I hope to never fell the loss you have felt.

The lesson is: Never, EVER take anyone we love for granted and never part on a bad note. It may be the last time we see our loved one alive. I have managed to go on with my life, keep track of the two baby boys she left behind, now grown, but do not remember her, and raise my own son to full adulthood. Well, I can't say how much I miss my older sister because I'm the oldest in my family but I think I know how it feels to miss a youger sibling and it could work both ways I guess.
