the real question isnt if its cool/fun the first weeks, the question is if it will be cool after months or years. Thats about the time that cool graphics, minor changes and cool environments gets stomped by ingenuity and well designed content. Not that wow has either to prevent any "your a wow nerd" comments.
I'm glad I let wow go as it was anything but fun. I was bored by the leveling / PvP / Raids. They made a good job, but aion is awesome.
Though, on a sidenote... I've never seen THAT much goldspammers and bots in a game. Never ever.
It's also poor that sorcerers don't scale with crit (magical crit = for orb or spellbook not spells) and the spellboost ist capped at 1200. But I'm confident it will improve with future patches.
No magic boost is not capped at 1200 that would mean that +300 and +500 magic boost spells would be useless at higher lvls and im sure NCsoft aint that stupid;)
@ brekgar, The first MMO what I've play was Guild War (GW) and GW came BEFORE WoW it seems that Wow copied GW, so don't say things like it, which game is better will win, that's it. At the 2nd addon in wow called Burning Crusade, blizzard had done it (to lose Players) Now it seems that Aion will be the next winner

i play wow regardless of anyone's opinion, the game was groundbreaking and is still fun and enjoyable. aion seems to have taken many of its core ideas from wow, i looked at one vid of aion, i was able to named all fo the spells by their wow name. I do not know what they arre called in aion, i bet some of them share names, perhaps, perhaps not. aion does look way better graphically but it has several years on wow.
Except I very much dislike WoW, too. : | I have to wonder, does Aion have 'that weapon upgrade system'? Accumulate some 5-tiered resource to upgrade a weapon based on its quality with an ever-decreasing chance of success, destroying theitem upon failure? I admit, I'll be surprised if it doesn't.

Take any popular Asian MMORPG and I'm sure you'll find World PvP, but the main focus is story...and that's quite prevalent in the focus on Player-NPC interaction or just Player-Quest interaction.
WoW and Aion are similar in that they are both MMORPG's, but they come from different worlds, with different trends set by players.

WoW and Aion are very similar. I don't see how you can bash one without bashing the other. The only difference is that Aion is focusing on World PvP, while WoW is focusing on PvE.
@FenixStryk you could easily bash aion without bashing WoW no one needs some copy cat game that seems to be WoW with combat-in-flight. I'll wait for the RPG that gives players more choices for class, race, and skill wise, while I am not a total tool I think pvp should be based on skill I don't think any class should be able to dominate everything with a set chain of skills why is that any fun for anyone even the person dominating.. repetition is innate in mmorpg but c'mon.

warhammer is the best pvp game........... try it its to balanced....... nice classes and you lvl in pvp .... almost the only thing you do.... you cn go instance quest... pq..... but pvp is nice! try it
WAR might have some good points in PvP, but Pve is as borin as hell. I quitted it because I found it heavily boring.. With Aion, you get ingame "Cinematic" Proper discussions, you get more feeling of a story, and the fact that you're regaining your lost memories is another awesome add! You dont gont a mount, you fly! Which saves you for alot of Kinah(cash). The animation when a person closes his/her eyes are fantastic, their skin are smooth and nice, and it gives a more feeling of sweetness! =D
If you went to a WOW arena tournament and clicked with your mouse, the entire place would come to a screeching halt, everyone would stop what there doing immediately and all stare at you to see if you are joking...it makes a HUGE MASSIVE difference, clicking is for really really bad players only.

yeah you can faceroll using macros with some class's but thats during pve not pvp unless you are a paladin ofc. but even in pve you can just spam skills and do crap or have a proper rotation etc. to maximize dps or whatever your role is.

as for me i use a combination of both clicking and keybinding,i dont like putting keybinds avrywhere on the key board so i put secondary skills, buff,heals,debuffs near the (wasd) moving buttons and i stack main attack skills all close together on bar for clicking..i think evryone got is own particular setup lol, ther eis no THE WAY to do it..
even if the spell animation are fast,if your a good clicker you can manage to click on anything within 1 sec,and the actions buttons look pretty close to each other in this game wich helps clickin,macros is also a good option if you are good at it,rly both clicking and macros are equal,just go with the way your the most skilled and comfortable in

This game doesn't have a global cooldown. The skills' animations determine the delay between skills, and some skills have very quick animations.
The reason people say clicking is bad is because you get distracted by the act of clicking itself and are unable to devote your full attention towards the things around you. Your interface should be as transparent as possible and clicking is certainly not.
Oh and you also need the mouse in order to turn the camera at a reasonable speed but you can't do that and click skills at the same time. So if you click skills and use the keyboard to turn, your reactions are slower all around because you can't point yourself in the direction you want whenever you want and you're slowed by having to spend time and concentration clicking instead of just pressing a key.
Heres the best way to bind. First off remove all binds that you can access from the UI (character screen, backpack, etc). Its just taking up precious space. Second Move all chat keys over to the far right around I, O or P, somewhere in that general area. Next move your movement keys (WASD) over one spot to the right (ESDF). There now you have all sorts of room to bind to. The key thing that makes the biggest difference in pvp, is reaction. pushing a button is way faster then mousing for it.

the game is really good, although I did have some trouble with quests in the NA beta at around level 12-13, and so-forth. I ended up having to do quests for the higher level which IMO should not happen. I did group while I quested with a friend but it shouldn't make a dif IMO. At least I hope it won't because I might be grouping with 2-3 other people.
aion wont beat wow, and i hope to god it dosent, because i want all the annoying elitists,children and wow fanboys to stay in wow so i can enjoy aion without theyre so called "faceroll uber skills" :3

Flying does have a cooldown and a duration. When you first get your wings you can only fly for a little while. When you get more levels you get more time and there are some scrolls and stuff you can use while flying to get you a few more seconds to make long trips.
It has a duration that starts at 60 seconds when you first get your wings, but later on you can increase the amount of flight time you get(by quite a lot) if you end of using all of your flight meter you'll have to wait for it to recharge.
Another part of flying is gliding, if you press space bar, then press it again in the air your character glides along the ground instead of flying in the air
oh yeah this game is much more worse than a game were you have 2 klick with your mouse to move...cant jump..has bad graphics..and is a endless grindfest and boring as hell...oh yeah this game is way worse than that.......
i think this game is a same grind. Movies in la2 are understandable and have what we call "drive". When I look at it no matter did I play it or not-I can understand the action on screen. Here watching in HD I have no clue what is going on on this screen. It's like flying on Gracia continent - no "drive" at all

Only reason wow is still kinda popular is because they are catering to the casuals. I remember when content was difficult. Naxx = blew threw that in a week. Ulduar got to yogg in two weeks. Too many scrubs with gear. Plus wow has grown a bit boring same shit each week.. raid... bg while we wait for resets... do dailies... That is a whole week in wow.

It would be rather foolish to deny WoW's breakthrough on pvp RPG-wise. Their pvp system is amasingly good, and is already at this level extreemly hard to master: I've played the game for w00t? 5 years nearly, and I still haven't become a true master. Anyway, what im looking for in this game is a system that's at least just as good, but also a system that has mmm like, you kno..something "more" (O_o like ze flying pvp thingie there..)
That this game has better graphics etc than wow is doubtful.

WoW and Aion are very similar. I don't see how you can bash one without bashing the other. The only difference is that Aion is focusing on World PvP, while WoW is focusing on PvE.

@FenixStryk you could easily bash aion without bashing WoW no one needs some copy cat game that seems to be WoW with combat-in-flight. I'll wait for the RPG that gives players more choices for class, race, and skill wise, while I am not a total tool I think pvp should be based on skill I don't think any class should be able to dominate everything with a set chain of skills why is that any fun for anyone even the person dominating.. repetition is innate in mmorpg but c'mon.

WAR might have some good points in PvP, but Pve is as borin as hell. I quitted it because I found it heavily boring.. With Aion, you get ingame "Cinematic" Proper discussions, you get more feeling of a story, and the fact that you're regaining your lost memories is another awesome add! You dont gont a mount, you fly! Which saves you for alot of Kinah(cash). The animation when a person closes his/her eyes are fantastic, their skin are smooth and nice, and it gives a more feeling of sweetness! =D

If you went to a WOW arena tournament and clicked with your mouse, the entire place would come to a screeching halt, everyone would stop what there doing immediately and all stare at you to see if you are joking...it makes a HUGE MASSIVE difference, clicking is for really really bad players only.

yeah you can faceroll using macros with some class's but thats during pve not pvp unless you are a paladin ofc. but even in pve you can just spam skills and do crap or have a proper rotation etc. to maximize dps or whatever your role is.

as for me i use a combination of both clicking and keybinding,i dont like putting keybinds avrywhere on the key board so i put secondary skills, buff,heals,debuffs near the (wasd) moving buttons and i stack main attack skills all close together on bar for clicking..i think evryone got is own particular setup lol, ther eis no THE WAY to do it..

This game doesn't have a global cooldown. The skills' animations determine the delay between skills, and some skills have very quick animations.
The reason people say clicking is bad is because you get distracted by the act of clicking itself and are unable to devote your full attention towards the things around you. Your interface should be as transparent as possible and clicking is certainly not.

Oh and you also need the mouse in order to turn the camera at a reasonable speed but you can't do that and click skills at the same time. So if you click skills and use the keyboard to turn, your reactions are slower all around because you can't point yourself in the direction you want whenever you want and you're slowed by having to spend time and concentration clicking instead of just pressing a key.

Heres the best way to bind. First off remove all binds that you can access from the UI (character screen, backpack, etc). Its just taking up precious space. Second Move all chat keys over to the far right around I, O or P, somewhere in that general area. Next move your movement keys (WASD) over one spot to the right (ESDF). There now you have all sorts of room to bind to. The key thing that makes the biggest difference in pvp, is reaction. pushing a button is way faster then mousing for it.

You get wings when you're level 10 and will be able to fly for around 1 minute. Flying duration will be increased within advanced levels.

the game is really good, although I did have some trouble with quests in the NA beta at around level 12-13, and so-forth. I ended up having to do quests for the higher level which IMO should not happen. I did group while I quested with a friend but it shouldn't make a dif IMO. At least I hope it won't because I might be grouping with 2-3 other people.

Flying does have a cooldown and a duration. When you first get your wings you can only fly for a little while. When you get more levels you get more time and there are some scrolls and stuff you can use while flying to get you a few more seconds to make long trips.

It has a duration that starts at 60 seconds when you first get your wings, but later on you can increase the amount of flight time you get(by quite a lot) if you end of using all of your flight meter you'll have to wait for it to recharge.
Another part of flying is gliding, if you press space bar, then press it again in the air your character glides along the ground instead of flying in the air

i think this game is a same grind. Movies in la2 are understandable and have what we call "drive". When I look at it no matter did I play it or not-I can understand the action on screen. Here watching in HD I have no clue what is going on on this screen. It's like flying on Gracia continent - no "drive" at all

Only reason wow is still kinda popular is because they are catering to the casuals. I remember when content was difficult. Naxx = blew threw that in a week. Ulduar got to yogg in two weeks. Too many scrubs with gear. Plus wow has grown a bit boring same shit each week.. raid... bg while we wait for resets... do dailies... That is a whole week in wow.

It would be rather foolish to deny WoW's breakthrough on pvp RPG-wise. Their pvp system is amasingly good, and is already at this level extreemly hard to master: I've played the game for w00t? 5 years nearly, and I still haven't become a true master. Anyway, what im looking for in this game is a system that's at least just as good, but also a system that has mmm like, you kno..something "more" (O_o like ze flying pvp thingie there..)
