Crappy reliability.I still got one in parts. The shit op amps fail in the pre-amp stage and the output transformer is destined to fail from the factory. The lead channel is not actually legit. The shit op amp digital chips push the tubes. I liked the bark but it didn't keep its bite. Might last a couple years club gigging, after that grace period. Last forever in your bedroom.
hello im getting a new amp either a jcm 800 900 2000 or vox ac 30 i really wanna get a nice brown sound like van halen and tight overdrive like guns n roses , kiss and ozzy ousbourne but i will also need to clean up the sound to get a jimi hendrix or pink floyd tone which amp should i get and those the jcm 800 take pedals well because it has no fx loop thanks give me opinions .
but then again the mesa is SO much more expensive. so you would expect higher output, and better speakers and better valves... and all those little things that add up to a volume increase
@skunizzi they sure are, I would swop marshal for fender any day though, fender amps are the best man, I own 2 silverface and one blackface, and I would not have it any other way, won't entertain PCB board amps as they are just crap to be honest, they are problematic and are not built to last, the old amps are the best, the new one's do sound as good IMO, just the build quality lets em down, but fender do it for me every time, a good pedal will push a fender into marshal territory anyway
@skunizzi marshal always seem to build their amps with higher wattage as well, they never have any decent amps at 15 or 20 watts like fender, some of fenders best amps like the princeton and deluxe reverb are lower wattage, marshals plexi is like 100 watts and shit, they built a 5 watt amp that is meant to be a mini plexi, but it sucks big time, class 5 it's called, stay clear of that and get a sf vibrochamp, I did and it rocks
marshall amps are great quality and it depends how you play. if you play with a dirty sound then it could get loud because you need to play louder inorder to get the speakers to push the sound.
What are your amp setting on the dirty channel for that first part? I have one of these and cannot get that kind of sound out of it with my Les Paul Classic.....
Sorry, I didn't write down the settings but its not that hard to get it if you play around with the gain and master volume a little. I think I had the treble turned down pretty low
Where can I find one of these?

Awesome demo and playing !
I can't believe how dumb Marshall is for
discontinuing to make the JCM 900 series.
I guess many musicians are modding
the JCM 800 to JCM 900 specs.

ahahaha
it's brutally loud in a pub or club environment :)
you don't want to use a 100 watt tube amp to practice at low volume with though. it doesn't allow the valves to warm up and blahblahblah.
if you play loud though it's so fun!!
containznutzrule 2 years ago
Your correct this amp is loud, but not as loud as my Mesa Boogie Stiletto Ace. In my opinion the Steletto owns this Marshall.
I'll try and post a review of that amp soon.

@xnoobSlay3rx a brand new jcm900 head costs about £800 here in britain, a combo would probably be more

Its too loud isn't it? i have played some 40 watts marshall combos and I cant imagine that this amp isnt too loud to practice with?
Nothingisfint 2 years ago
yes its loud, but a 90 watt Mesa Eletra Dyne sounds much louder than this Marshall.
