This is not the "gatka" that Sikhs used centuries ago to defeat vast swaths of enemy that outnumbered them vastly. It is a highly diluted form, you can blame the British empire for that one having seen how effective the Sikh army of Maharaja Ranjit Singh was.

I only attended a class for a few weeks unfortunately and saw comparatively how gatka was made inefficient by use of moves that would wear you down fast, not something you need when heavily outnumbered. I'm not any professional ;) But I think you can learn alot more than me if you looked back or perhaps found someone more knowledgable in the field.

This may be true in some ways, but not completely. It's turned into an art for some, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who practice gatka in efficient means. Also there's the factor of practice, you need to start somewhere and if you look at some masters on even youtube you see what skill they possess in terms of explosive swordsmanship combined with speed.

does Gatka have much dance or musical Accompaniment?

The music component comes from the dhol or drum being played in the background. There isn't really a dancing component that is what bhangra is.
