this is such an interesting episode, because despite the fact that renamon was able to digivolve for rika, she still couldn't win, and icedevimon ends up beaten by a rookie. this is why i love this season, because it goes against all the things from the first two, especially the "good guys digivolve and win" formula. so great!!

Too bad Rika was too freaked out to realize that even if Renamon DID evolve, she wasn't the same from IceDevimon. Since she said Renamon was her friend, and didn' ealize THAT is what triggered it.
I like how in the beginning they don't all immediately resolve to digivolving to defeat their opponents.. rookies beating those monsters is admittedly pretty refreshing
