just a quick note to everybody who is about to try this. this does work you can see through the dark and its really cool. down sides. make the picture really really blurry so if you use your webcam a lot for skyping or any other way to video chat. do not do it.

@00Mandingo00 I believe putting film in place of the IR filter is for only allowing IR to pass though. So basically the opposite purpose of a IR filter. It makes it only IR show and not regular light. I think so, I am not positive on this though.

i think you're right. I tried this method without using a dark piece of film over the lens. It still works fine. Now it's a full-spectrum camera (visible light + IR)

I'll already untwist my webcam and check if I can remove infrared ^glass^. It turns out that I can not. This infrared glass is "inside" of plastic eye of webcam. Plastic can be liquid so my webcam is hold tightly this glass.

If you find an old enough Web Cam, you wont even have to take the filer off. In fact, my iPhone can see the bright IR, like in the Remote.
