  • STOCK UP ON INCANDESCENT WHILE YOU CAN!

  • Morons. Emissions law must now be called "bans on truck freedom". They require lights etc for cars to be "street legal", but nobody says that restricts their "car freedom". The consumer would've never known about this "ban" until the read the fine print on their incandescent bulbs, which still were going to be produced, just with more efficient standards. Get mad about real shit instead of this bull. U worry the gov tells u what to do, but who do u think told u this bill "takes away freedom"?

  • @jns1027 To some degree you are correct. They are building efficiency standards in incandescent bulbs such as the Halogens. But what you fail to mentioned is that by 2020, theres going to be a stricter set of efficiency standards which MIGHT ban halogen bulbs if they cant build meet those standards by then. Your examples of vechicles vs light bulbs is VERY poor. I prefer warmer, and nicer light. cfls produce gloomy and shitty light and they dont even last as long as ur told. So YOU'RE the moron

  • Those bulbs are energy efficient because they produce about as much light as a fucking lit match.

  • HE IS RIGHT!

    I will vote him!

  • CFLs dont work in all places of ur house. There are fixtures in ur home where incandescents are needed. Plus CFLs take a while to warm up. When ur leaving them on waiting on them to warm up, thats wasting energy. And many CFLs dont have, not even close to the life span thats claimed. Yet, i have incandescents that havent burnt out in years. This is why the ban is stupid. again, i like to have pleasent lighting. My home is not gona look like the inside of a shopping mall.

  • Is all of America high? How is this an act of totalitarianism and arrogance? You're telling me the US can't stand the same change that took place in Europe? Everybody there was OK with it, but America just has to be more special... this kind of thinking makes me sick...

  • @geeeeeeo whats sick is ppl like u who agree with the light bulb ban. u and all ur eco friendly nut cases are sick believing that cfls will save the planet and stop global warming. i dont mind change, if its reasonable. Not only is the light bulb ban unreasonable, but its just plain STUPID. i dont know about u but im proud of my home and im not gona make my home look like the inside of a supermarket just cuz u eco friendly morons think it will help the planet. go see a therapist dude.

  • @geeeeeeo last time i checked, im paying for my light bill, so i will decide what bulbs best suit me. in my opinion, u have bad taste in lighting

  • @noreaga12326 I guess in order to make things fair, you should have to pay for environmental cleanup too, like planting trees etc. Add that to the bill and then I see your point.

  • @geeeeeeo there is no proof that CFLs are better for the environment or that incandescents are bad for the environment. I hear ALL THE TIME that "cfls will stop global warming " or "CFLs are better the the planet" i do respect ur opinion but if u really believe in that mess, then ur not too bright. Just my opinion. I see nothing wrong with living in a clean world or to save the planet. But this is just plain STUPID. if CFLs were that great, ppl would buy them with out being forced to.

  • @noreaga12326 CFLs will not save the planet all by themselves - they're not Superman. But ordinary light bulbs only transfer 20% of energy consumed into light, as opposed to CFLs, which transfer almost 100%. People are by nature resistant to change and in this case a law is needed in order to change a defective mentality.

  • @geeeeeeo I'm not resistant to change as long as its reasonable. The bulb ban is not only unreasonable but STUPID. we've been using edisons for over 100 years, so why are u liberals complaining about them now? When i come home and i wana relax, i like to have pleasent lighting in my house. CFLs give off horrible lighting AND they dont work in all places. i am amazed how u eco friendly terrorist wana control ppls lives by forcing us to use products that dont work, harmful and gloomy.

  • @geeeeeeo - So basically what you're saying is that its OK for me to give up my choice (freedom) to choose which light blub I want to use? No thanks. Less goverment is the only choice that I will attend too.

  • @codematrix the problem here is that government is way too up in our pants. They're suppose to represent us, not tell us what to do. i cant help but to laugh at the morons who actually agree with the ban. i wouldnt worry too much about it though cuz we will have some choices after 2014. In fact, i read on a few articles that congress is seriously considering repealing the light bulb ban. im not sure if it will happen but just in case, i would stock up on edison bulbs like im doing.

  • I'm ready to support and campaign for this amendment whenever its ready. I will not use fluorescent bulbs in my house.

  • Telling us where to set our thermostat is next.
