Why are all of you yanks on this fuking video if its about confedarates then u fuking arseholes tryin to start, Why?. Lol The only people in the south were celts, Mostley Irish, Welsh, Scottish and Cornish allot of people think there was english but there wasn't it was cornish people who are called english because they took over Cornwall, But the south is 100% Celtic Godbless the Celts and Godbless the South! Although its sad to see my fellow celts cursing at each other over Americans...
@Redfingers Sherman was a fucking war criminal and if we had won would have been be executed along with that piece of shit Sheridan. FUCK OFF YANKEE SCUM
@Redfingers I'm Irish (my mothers surname was scottish so I prob have scottish somewhere down the line too) and I agree with you, Irish americans who were confederates were complete traitors, complete scum. The day they decided to be confederates they gave up their right to call themselves "Irish americans"..lets see how many of the scum attack me? ROFLOL
Scottish American here too. My Grandfather was from Limestone county Alabama, Knox was his name. I was born and raised here in Wisconsin but have always wondered at and accepted the reasons that the South saw the need to secede. The greater tragedy is that Celt fought against Celt and were once again, pawns in a struggle that was not of their own choosing. There's the shame of it.
There were small numbers of the Irish who settled in the South due to the majority of Irish immigrants settling in the Northern States such as New York and Boston.
The largest European groups to settle in the South were Scottish, German and English.
The ulster -Scots in Ireland are now proudly British , also people with my family name fought on both sides in the American civil war , lots of them lived in Maryland which was badly divided , there brother really did fight brother
They were english, scots, irish on both sides of that war. British against British again just like in the American revolution. And the English are the reason why they were and are there to this very day.
I am surprised more real liberals are not pro-southern secession. We would lose those crazy John Galt Tea Party fanatics. Then Washington D.C. would lose a large chunk of its military personnel. The South would lose the entire motivation for the Stars and Bars reactionary redneck attitude. The rest of the USA might become more like Canada, but without the scheming parliament.
I am pro-secession for the south. It seems that the problems like excessive religion came after the war. Mississippi has the most religion and most poverty in the USA. Are these two things connected? Perhaps if the south seceded, it would lose its motivation for religion. Czechoslovakia split itself in two peacefully, and it is a small nation. There were no guns or bloodshed during this split. It is known as the "velvet revolution".
I'd love to go back in time, and give our Confederate men semi automatic to fully automatic machine guns, with some mortars, and a few tanks. :) Be sweet to see our men mow down some Damn Yanks!!!!! >:)
The southerners are all loyalists. It doesnt take much, say some money, and they will turn into British ponces and go back to England, even if they are Irish. Its the Ulster Scots in them, they turn Loyalist quick if their pockets are lined. Also the historical animosity with the North and losing the war makes them turn to the Queen.
@schlachthauz I have lived in the South my entire life and have never met a man still loyal to Britain. We're American Southrons. Not Brits living in another land. If given the chance to fight for anyone, it wouldn't be some foreign state across the seas, it would be for independence of our own land.
@PookieDude1 I lived in Georgia one time. I cant imagine many of those people as doing any real fighting or anything. If the Union invaded the South now, the most southerners would do would probably be to call the state highway patrol, get out drug sniffing dogs, and possibly fine union soldiers for restitution on imaginary auto vandalism.
@schlachthauz Well, I'm truly sorry that those in the area you lived in were that way. They do not represent the whole South. Every Southerner I know would not only willingly, but eagerly fight for the Southern cause. Even for the US Armed Forces, the strongest military tradition is in the South.
@PookieDude1 Well you have a lot of Hispanics in the military as well. Don't get me wrong, if you guys want to separate and form a new land, you are welcome to it. The USA is too big already. I myself am tired of the east coast entirely. Somewhere civil war neutral like Oregon is very inviting.
@stellalouise1 well I dont want to hate the south blindly. In fact there are some nice cities like Savannah. I just wish you guys would leave your Republican right wing gun toting mentality. After all you didnt "get religion" until after the war! Might as well rebuild the right way and really show the yanks by ditching your religious mania and guns and showing who can be more civilized! But the way you guys act in a lot of the south is not very interesting to me personally.
@schlachthauz I'm glad that you don't want to hate anything blindly. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with some locals in a Georgia town. There are plenty of jerks in the south, just like every other place. Most people who move south are surprised by how nice the locals are and I'm sorry you had bad luck. You need to take a look at your demand for people to change their religion. It is unreasonable. The south is more tolerant. Different views are allowed, unless they are bullying views.
@stellalouise1 The rich people and rednecks in Georgia both gave me problems. I have spent time in the Golden Isles, Atlanta, and Savannah. The barrier islands are extremely annoying. The rich people and Christians there are too much for my tiny little mind to deal with.
All I see here is bad spelling Americans commenting on issues they have little or no knowledge of. Allow me now to tell you, you have no place remaining here in Scotland nor Ireland. Keep eating your Happy meals and conspiracies of the illumanati. All glory to the San Patricios
@Taiginator You know what his answer to that is gonna be? lol
Irish/Plastic Paddie revisionists, all the same, you can sense their odious stench a mile off, even just by reading the shite they write, it's not hard, lol
@Calengela I care not for petty geo-political borders, nor politics as I'm Apolitical. Blood & spirit are more profound than illusory concepts & idea's that you cling to so dearly. I'm more of a tribalist than a nationalist.
@ScotiExile You care not for native nationality, national culture, geography? That's because it conflicts with your deluded, racist, Plastic Paddie, ideological disorder.
What you Plastic Paddies go by is indeed illusory concepts that you certainly cling to with all your might as without which you are nothing, you're a fake, a Plastic Paddie, Plastic People.
You use a national name (Irish) to describe yourself despite the fact you have nothing to do with Ireland itself, you contribute in no way.
@Calengela Irish have contributed much to the world over time, they kept christianity alive during the dark ages, splendid passionate music & rhyme, literature, poetry, architecture & construction. The White house was designed by an Irishman. The father of th US navy was an Irishman, as was Argentina's first Admiral of the fleet, who was key in liberating Argentina from its colonial master. Great Irishmen liberated and founded many south american military's, navy's etc 2 many achievements 2 list
@ScotiExile Furthermore, Irish contributions fail in comparison to the vast creations of Scotland. The Scottish enlightenment outshines Irish achievement by a considerably large degree.
Again, you go back in the past to a revised made up Irish history inspired by Catholic Irish Paedophilia and talk about long long ago, the dead days that are irrelevant to the question of what Ireland is good for today.
The US Navy was founded by Scotsman John Paul Jones, not an Irishman (or Plastic Pladdie).
@Calengela dont u have some drug abusing to do? scotland has the highest rate of heroin abuse in europe n its also the fattest nation in europe. scots aint got shit to be proud of, cant even look after themselves, dirty cunts
@namsamram Now do you see why Scotland could never be frre in history look at you what your doing, you think you could make a free Scotland bickring like this? I DON'T THINK SOOOO!!!!!!
@namsamram Now do you see why Scotland could never be free in history look at you what your doing, you think you could make a free Scotland bickring like this? I DON'T THINK SOOOO!!!!!!
@bagies Well jackass i'm scott's and i don't live in scotland nor do i abuse drugs smart ass!! No matter what it says before my words to ya i'm a Highland by birth, @Calengena I am a proud man and if you can back your mouth come on down to Tybee Island Ga. and run your mouth agains highland blood at Huc-a-poos! The Islands only there miles long...
@ScotiExile Christianity was kept alive at the Isle of Iona in Scotland, not Ireland.
Now the Irish are slaves of Rome with another religion that is not the same as before, Irish Catholicism.
26 bankrupt EU run slaves of Rome, so much for Irish. ahem, Plastic Paddie achievement.
You are not Irish, you are not Scottish, Yanks are not Irish and Scots most certainly are not Irish either. To bad that your Catholic revisionist Irish made myths can not trick the modern world like the old.
@Calengela You have no authority to say what and what I or anyone else is. We will be what we imagine and believe. Please do refrain from writing another mini essay to me.
@ScotiExile On a final note for now, can you name one single one of these so called Irishmen that did any of that in America that you listed (Most of which was total rubbish) that was actually an Irishman and not a Yank Plastic Paddie?
@Calengela You talk to much, you clearly have too much time on your hands. I'm not going to educate you on Irish achievements and greatness, inspect & research for yourself.
You are inadequate in some field of your life, so you try to make up for it by jumping on the Political entity: Scotland's bandwagon to try and scrape from self esteem for yourself. That is where you derive your pride from. You're scottish by genetic accident, you'll be old in a few decades, then slip into your grave.
This video shouldn't be titles like this, the Yanks should stop trying to link Scots and Irish together as one just because it suits those that had a great great great GrandMother/Father who was an Ulster Scot.
The reality in those countries is quite different.
@Calengela You and others like ya are always complaining about the yanks that had a great grandfather bla bla..This is about the ealry era of America you dumb fucker.Take for example Andrew Jackson ,his parents were from Ulster you stupid ignorant fuck. I reckon though maybe in the late 1700s ,Andrews parents mysteriously turned into plastic ,and poor Andrew was a plastic padde his whole life because his granfathers fathers father mother had an Irish Setter dog..Man, you are lookin' stupid.
lowland scots are of anglo saxon descent........then they moved onto ulster as did some northern english........there for not irish or celtic........but i dont think americans would like to hear that.........the name for the lowlands in gaelic ghalldachd......place of the foreigner
Sigh. No lowland Scots are not of all Anglo Saxon decent. The Brythons(Celts) where in the lowlands, strathclyde was a celtic kingdom that spoke a Celtic language. Once again someone confuses Celtic for Gaelic. You are confusing the Lowlands with the Borders, the Border rievers where sent to the Plantations.
Celtic is a loose term applied to many peoples, as is Germanic. The Britons, The Gaels and the Picts are the only ones we deal with in Scotland however. The Picts made up the vast majority of Scotland, and indeed would make up nearly 50% of the Scottish gene pool. But the Gaelic presence can't be denied nor can Brythonic. Scots would be Picto-Gaelic in the same way English could be called Anglo-Saxon despite the fact Norman, Norse, Romano-Britons have a big influence too.

@Calengela Plus your nordic theory is flawed, Modern day Scots would be predominantly of pictish origin, gaelic & also brythonic. There would be drops of nordic via the viking influence of northern scotland, but Alba is celtic in its essence, doubt it not.
@ScotiExile "ALBA" is now widely considered to be a Pictish root word, hence why it's Scotland's true name to this day as it's Pictish, 'ALBA' is cognate with the entire isles of Great Britain's ancient name 'ALBION'.
It's even now believed that Dál Riata was indigenous to Scotland and they went into Antrim to set up trade routes, not the other way around, Google "Irishtribesman the Scots did not come from Ireland".
There is virtually no evidence to support the Irish made myth that you go by.
@ScotiExile 'Celtic' is a Plastic Paddie ideological belief that has outlived it's relevance, many Plastic Paddies and Catholic revisionists want to think of it as a racial ethnicity, so it's thanks to the seminal works of Simon James (1999) and Brian Sykes (2006) that it can be understood for the Victorian romantic idiocy that it is.
Scots are by far and wide Pictish (ancient Scots), even Brian Sykes work proved that two thirds of the Hebrides (formally Dál Riata) can trace Pictish origin.
@TheTwollocks The Saxons never made it to Scotland, the Angles who did only made it as far as southern Scotland, no further than Edinburgh. Plus the Caledonian Picts (Early Scots) drove them out at the Battle of Dunnichen, the Scot/Picts lured the Angles north by making them think they were retreating but they were actually luring the Angles into more hostile territory in north Scotland, then the Scot/Picts drove them to the Loch and slaughtered them.
Glad we agree on some history. The three most important battles of Scottish history The Battle of Mons Grampus, Battle of Dunnichen and Battle of Brunanburgh, without them there would be no Scotland.
@Calengela i dont think so......the lowlands of scotland were anglo saxon .....the vikings were a germanic tribe as well........thier language is still spoke to llalans.....if anything the celts were the insignificant ones
@Calengela i dont think so......the lowlands of scotland were anglo saxon .....the vikings were a germanic tribe as well........thier language is still spoke to llalans.....if anything the celts were the insignificant ones
The Lowlands where not Anglo-Saxon, only Bercinia was any real Angle presence in (Modern Scotland) Which stretched the far east coast across Berwick only as far as the forth. The Northumbrians briefly took more but met defeat at the hands of the Picts. The Majority of the Lowlands, Strathclyde, GoddodonLothian) where Britons and spoke a language similar to Welsh.
See alot of Scots getting Angry at Scots-Americans for being proud of their history, why? The more American's embrace their European roots the less xenophobic they should be about other countries and after all their history can't go back further than 400 years and so merges with ours. I trace my history further back to Picts, Gaels and Brythons could you imagine how they'd feel about that?
Why are you? Irony. Connery and Connolly and Cox and Butler are all proud Scots yes and are all proud of their Irish decent also. Scots who moan about Scots-Americans/Canadians are idiots, God if they didn't flock to Edinburgh to embrace their roots our economy would take a blow. This seems to be two seperate points you are referring to though and you seem to be more or less agreeing with me.
Every person in Scotland has pure Celtic blood (we all slept with our own mothers). If we don't gain independence from the much more successful England, we will cut off supplies of kilts & haggis (which ironically didn't actually originate in Scotland) & England will fall.
@Taiginator sorry mate picts were a celtic tribe, thing is just cause people are celts doesn't mean they are the same, be it swiss, spanish, french etc. irish are just 3rd class picts(not saying scotland)
@jettrink60 Ah think youv,e been on the Jack Daniels(with Bud chasers!) at no time did i EVER state "there were no Catholic Irish confederate.s". The Confederates v Unionists was the American CIVIL WAR!!....I stated that they,re were no catholic Irish in the war of INDEPENDENCE. you known. the one, Where the ULSTER-SCOTS Protestants(mainly) won INDEPENDENCE from BRITIAN. IRish CATHOLIC emigration to AmericaHADNT BEGUN THEN!! You sound like an IGNORANT clown /,mouthing off tripe like that!!
Celtic Confedarate.s my fleckin arse .Wit a load a pish . this is just propaganda,. Try telling an UlsterScots protestant he is some how your "keltic " brotherSome publications say there are $0 million americans of "Irish descent, with the assumption being that that means4 0 million of Irish catholic descent, RUBBISH! 27 million of thes peopl areof protestant ULSTER- SCOTS descent!! AND wld be very angry with anyone whothought , or described them in any way as Irish, or Catholic.
Funny the way neo-confederates try to legitimize their "cause", by linking it to the old world, and proclaiming some spiritual kinship with the people of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Native Americans or what not.
Scottish Presbyterians actually weighed in on the US Civil War..."The Confederate States unblushingly proclaim that slavery is to be the normal condition of this Southern millennium, which they are about to introduce; and, that they, as the superior race, are bound...
@UnionStatesHeritage ...by the law of Divine Providence to keep the sons and daughters of Africa, in perpetual bondage"..."Our sympathies cannot go with the Southern states, who, in the first half of the nineteenth century, are proclaiming a doctrine, the foulest and most revolting that has ever been enunciated, since our blessed redeemer hung on the cross of shame, and bore away the sins of the world"...
@irishaware No it wasn't you daft Yank cunt, Great Britain first came into being with the 1707 Act of Union between Scotland and England. It was a political union of the Scottish and English parliaments.
the ulster scots built america .thre was millions of ulster-scots in the states before the arrival of the catholic irish the ulster scots fought for american independence the irish catholics couldnt , simply because they hadnt arrived in the states, they wernt they,re yet!
@NOVATICANWARS Millions? no way man, the ulster-scot population was no more then 250,000 back then, there's only around 3 million now... and they hardly built america themselves that's for sure.
@swaaahtome After the war of independence their were close onTWO MILLION americans of Ulster-Scots protestant descent. Today there are around TWENTYSEVEN PLUS Millions of the same Descent in the U.S.A.!! If any people cld have been seen to initiate and implement the "building" of The U.S.A. it those gallant pioneers.
@thecrusades2 The Celts aren't even native, they came to the isles from 800BC to 500BC, settled in and where eventually bred out by the natives who far out populated them, the Celts left only small influences on culture.
It's the Irish brainwashed by 100 years of Catholic national propagada and Plastic Paddie Yankee reptilian cunts who try their best to enforce this false myth.
Scotland had it's people for thousands and thousands of years before Celts even existed.
@segano1 You are an idiot!! The Scots-Irish otherwise known as Ulster Scots are an ethnic group made up of Scottish families who migrated to the Ulster plantations in the 1600's. More Than 200,00 of these people migrated to the American colonies in the 1700's they fought in the Revolutionary war as well as the Civil War.I am a proud Ulster Scot. Get your facts right next time.
@catastrophewaitres78 An idiot!? Remind me who the Yank is here? Ulster-Scots are not Irish when in Ireland, Ireland is an island with two countries on it, 1.Ulster 2.Rep.Ireland.
You're talking about events that happened hundreds of years ago.
Yankees don't even come into it because the USA isn't a bunch of abandoned colonies any more, anybody born in America isn't a Scot, Ulster-Scot or Irish at all.
I'm guessing your the kind of Irishman who eats hotdogs and plays football with his hands. I'll break this down for you. The Gaels (Scotti) who traveled from Ireland to the west coast of Scotland and created Dal Riada where Irish, yep thats right BUT there where a bunch of people already in Scotland called the Picts and they made up 70% of the popualtion they joined with the Gaels to creat Alba. Now how can the modern Scots be 100% Irish?
@Cybopath What is it with people like you? You come on a website and start telling people about their own history? How do you know the Irish went to the West Coast of Scotland? Oh that's right, you read it or heard it somewhere. Stop talking about history like you know everything. It was hundreds of years ago now, and chances are everything you just said is a load of shite.
Yea that's right I READ it, funny way to learn about things like history by READING BOOKS and paying attention in Education. God what an idiot I am. How do I know the Irish went to the west of Scotland, Are we talking about the Gaels of the dark ages here or Irish immigrants from the 1800's? I know the Gaels went the west of Scotland because they had a Kingdom called Dal Riada that merged to become Alba, Because they brought their GAELIC language with them.
@Cybopath Okay, lets just start living by everything we read in books since they are always right. Begone, troll, you're only making yourself look stupid now.
What are you a closet troll? 1) I was replying to a dumb Irish-American who said all the Scots came from Ireland, (You agree with him do you?) 2) Live my life by a book? Knowing about history doesn't effect how I live my life. Sorry you're afraid of history I guess you don't want to know about WW2, Roman Empire etc 'If we ignore history we make the same mistakes.' I happen to be interested in my country and her history.
@irishaware Scots are Caledonian Picts, not Irish.
Sorry but your Roman masters will not help you this time, the Scots are more Nordic Scythian Hence Caledonian Picti, where as the Irish are Iberian invaders from Iberia Milesian. - Not much to be proud of there.
Scots are there own people, Scots who assert this are not unionists, they're stating their uniqueness.
It's Catholic myth that creates wide common misconception that you spread because the Irish don't have much to be proud of at all.
@Calengela Scotland in latin: Land of the Irish. Descendants of the Irish GAELS gave concieved Scotland. Ireland was called Scotia prior to Scotland being called it. The lineage of the Irish Gaels made Alba great, not the naked painted picts, although they did assist.
One of the later Stewart Kings, King James, even proclaimed that he was sprung of the Fergus race (referring to Fergus Mor of Ireland, the first proper King of scots)
@ScotiExile That's pure proper bullshit "Land of the Irish?!" ROFL!!!! Never have I heard so mush shite in all my time on Youtube, you must be a Catholic Irish revisionist, correct? 'Scoti' is the Latinisation of the ancient Greek 'Skotto' (Darkland), yes the ancient Greeks knew of the Pict/Scots long before the Romans did, they spoke of an Orcadian Pictish navy they feared.
@ScotiExile The word 'Irish' never even existed until the 1600's when your Papist master Pope Leo X imposed that name on you, before that Ireland's true name in Latin was 'Hibernia', Gaels weren't a people, it was a language, plus it wasn't Irish either as they were separate from the rest of Ireland. In Irish it was pronounced "Gaylick", the Scots called the Irish and their Gaylick language as "Erse" - Scots for 'Arse' which was cognate for Ireland's Gaylick name "Eire".
@ScotiExile The Scots are much more leaning towards Nordic and Scythian style and origin as they are by far and large Pictish and are very similar to Vikings, the Irish are Iberian invaders from Milesians who came from where modern Spain is today.
"Celtic" is a modern made up term by an English linguist from the mid 1800's who invented it as a grouping of language similarities, it was later hi-jacked by Irish republicans in the early 1900's to link not only language, but people and culture too
@ScotiExile All Scotland's first Kings were Picts, from the Pictish dynasty, Constantine and Donald II - as proved in writting on the Pictish king list. Mac Alpín being the first king of Scotland is a myth that has existed for centuries, but what is known now compared to then is that he indeed was of Pictish majority descent as his family majority were.
Scottish land and population history are far older than Ireland's, Scotland's population and habitation pre-date Ireland's by a good 4000 years
@ScotiExile "Irish Gaylick people have much to be proud of"?? Yea? Like what?
I don't see what they have to be proud off at all, most of their existence is based on old outdated myths, ripping off Scottish culture and hi-jacking Scottish identity Plastic Paddie style.
Maybe it's because the creation of the modern world can be attributed to Scotland where as Ireland have nothing to be proud off at all but ripping off identities and mass emigration.
@ScotiExile Does Ireland ever look forwards than backwards to hi-jack history?
What's the future hold for Ireland? Now it's a bankrupt broke slave nation to the economy wreaking EU that's constantly on a downward spiral and still set to get much worse.
Scotland's future looks bright as regular readers of Newsnet Scotland will know, that site destroys Irish revisionism and English bias.
Ex Vice president of the states Al Gore has said the world should follow Scotland's lead for future energy.
@Calengela A significant amount of what you've just stated are subjective value judgements. There's really no point in me schooling you as it would synonymous with telling a stone hard christian that Jesus Christ is not the son of God, or telling your average joe that the grass is not green.
"Etymology: Scotland takes its name from Scotus which translates into Irishman (masculine form of Scoti)."
I'm more of a Scot than you'll ever be & I'm not even from Scotland, sucks to be your kind.
@ScotiExile You sound like a pure racist cunt, "I'm more a Scot than you'll ever be and I'm not from Scotland"!? WRONG! You're not Scottish at all, you're not born native to Scotland, you're not Scottish in any way at all, you are English. As long as you are born in Scotland with at least one Scottish parent then you are Scottish I'd say, regardless of what other you think you are, if you have no Scottish parent and you were born in Scotland then you'd still a Scottish nationalist.
@ScotiExile The Caledonian Picts (Ancient Scots) were not from Ireland, so with most Scots being Pictish, that means the Scots certainly are not Irish at all, and the Scots are indeed Caledonian Pictish.
That 'Scotus' word is an old fashioned theory, it's of Latin sound, the 'Tus' at the end for example is a dead give away. And once again, the 'Irish' word did not even exist back then, it never existed until the mid 1600's by Pope Leo X. The ancient Greeks knew of the Scots (Picts) long before .
@Calengela A significant amount of what you've just stated are subjective value judgements. There's really no point in me schooling you as it would synonymous with telling a stone hard christian that Jesus Christ is not the son of God, or telling your average joe that the grass is not green.

@thecrusades2 Again, that is _dated_ information that is cited by Oppenheimer and Sykes in their respective volumes, _Blood of the Isles_ and _Origins of the British_. However, more recent genetic analysis places R1b in the Ukraine during the time of the Iberian Ice Age Refuges, and that R1b (R1b-U106 & R1b-P312) migrated westward through Anatolia and Greece, reaching Britain and Ireland in the early Bronze Age.
@thecrusades2 : Kelts are Kelts, no matter where they made their entries to Europe. The Kelts were/are a race. The Romans pushed the Kelts to the fringes of Europe and the British Isles. When the Romans pulled out the Germanic tribes moved in and became the dominant people of present-day England. That's why the great majority of English names are Germanic and why English is a Germanic tongue. Later the Normans moved in and established the ruling class that has remained separate to this day.
@thecrusades2 Sorry your data is way outdated. England is predominantly Celtic, more specifically Proto-Celtic, since European R1b of various subclades is progressively being more and more identified with a pre-Bronze age migration from the Ukraine up the Danube and Rhine river valleys that is identified gentically, archaeologically, and linguistically with the Proto-Celts.
@pikeonfly1 True, most Irish fought for the Union side. But that cannot be dismissive of the large numbers of Irish who fought for the South. There was a company in an Alabama Infrantry Brigade that contained exclusively men who had been born in Ireland.
@Cionaodh57 : The Irish who fought for the South fought out of love. The Irish who fought for the North were conscripted and fought out of fear and desperation. The Irish were treated worse than animals in the North by the ruling Germanic Anglo-Saxons.
@iRednaz I am scottish SHUT THE FUCK UP we are do not give a fuck about you americans claiming scottish ancestory the majoirty of us scots are athiest nowadays the irish are awesome i live in dublin and am engaged to an irish girl i am pure blood pict scot really the irish and real scotish not ulster are the ones who did the most along with the germans for america end of.
@libsarecommies So i spelled a few words wrong wow i work i am tired when i get home big deal! Stupid fuck fuck your religion whatever it is go back to praying to your false gods mate.
@libsarecommies actually i have none of my family where at all religious not at all even back to as far as i can find records which makes me happy and while i wouldn't like monkeys shitting on my face you do understand they are very close relatives of us no? did not think so typical religious freak who understands nothing and myself guilible?lol i'm not the freak who prays to a fairy tale man in the sky for stuff lol.And believes a longhaired jew in white healed hundreds of people and was reborn
@iRednaz - Hate to tell you, but your ancestors were Catholic. The Ulster scots derive from protestant carpetbaggers sent to hold the North of Ireland for their English masters. But the master spurned them and in 1798, 1805 and 1848 they fought against the English alongside Catholics.
So I thank my God I do not share your bile, you little man, for if you bite your tongue you'll surely poison yourself. Grow up and learn your history.
@MacliamOg The Scots have no masters, they answered to no one, unlike the Irish, the Scottish brand of religion is Presbyterianism, this was a reformation by John Knox who stated that the Scots were Gods chosen people and he wanted Scotland to be the new Jerusalem.
The Ulster land was sold off by the English, hence why just as many English settled in Ulster as Scots.
@DrDeist Their sons and daughters will pay for the mistreatment of the ancestors of the Irish, the celts passed cry out for revenge.
Just as Brennos, the Gaulish Celt, raised his sword roaring "VAE VICTIS!" meaning woe to the vanquished after conquest and sacking of rome. So shall a valiant son of Erin on the Stone of Destiny in London.
@thecrusades2 When you refer to the ancient British tribes I assume you are not referring to the present general population of England which is surely predominantly descended from the Germanic Jutes, Angles, and Saxons. The ruling English class is genetically Norman - no?. BTW it's nice to know the Scots are still relatively pure - still genetically close to the small but glorious army of Gauls (Kelts) who sacked Rome in 387 BC, overcoming huge disadvantages in manpower and methodology.
@thecrusades2 : "Ancient British" = Kelts. It wasn't until after the Romans abandoned Britain that the Germanic people crossed the Channel to fill the power vacuum left by the Romans. Both Scots and Irish are of KELTIC background. The Scots are primarily Keltic, secondarily Norse; the Irish are primarily Keltic, secondarily Spanish (Moorish genes). The Keltic Empire stretched from modern day Portugal to Syria, from Northern Italy to Scotland. The common language was Gaelic.

@rob39uk No sorry, all wrong. Large portions of the South's population was of French descent & Catholic, e.g., General Pierre Gustave-Toutant Bearegard of New Orleans, Louisiana, as well as recent Irish immigrants who came prior to the Union blockade of Charleston, SC because they were farmers in Ireland and wanted to be farmers in the South and not factory line-workers making minimum wage in a northern sweat-shop!
Like me, I used to celebrate St Patricks day how stupid was that lol. I researched my heritage and found that the Ulster-Scots (proper name) despised the native Irish. The name Scotch-Irish was coined by English-Americans because they were Scots who came from an Irish port.
@boycey551 Hi, a lot of Ulster-Scots/protestants do celebrate St. Patrick's day as he is credited for bringing Christianity to Ireland but most don't take part in St. Patrick day parades. In America many wear orange on this day. I woudn't go as far as saying Ulster-Scots despise the native Irish (although in the past they would have been enemies for the most part) but they have different cultures for sure.
@222macgregor Their is only 3 and a half million scot irish and ulstermen there is 40 plus million irish americans.I am scottish btw.No offence but your family have been in america to long to be considered scottish at all your an american and are probally mixed with german and english aswell.I am pure blood scottish sadly i am glad your proud of the scot heritige but us scots dont give a flying fuck having irish ancestory is the cool thing these days in scotland.
There are more Irish decendants across the world than Scots because they had more reason to leave. Even famous Scots like Sean Connery and Billy Connolly are themselves of Irish decent.
No your a Germanic propaganda machine like all the rest of the Germanics a plague to the white race and a lying peice of shit.
Go to Scotland and Ireland and tell people their they are not Celtic and your end up dead, fact is its so well known its langhable you question entire nations, and the entire Celtic union and millions upon millions of peole and thousands of years of well recorded history.
Also you spam all Celtic Scots/Irish Videos with your nonsens as proof of peopaganda.
Actually (and not that i care because i consider my Irish brethren very deer friends but..) at least %60 of the American people who claim to be Irish are actually Scottish or Ulster Scots too ignorant to know what their heritage actually is.
as 4Gooman said: Great video! However most Southerners are Scots-Irish, Scottish, and English. Few are actually Irish (ancestors who were native Irish). Most Irish Catholics immigrated to the North about 60-70 years later than the groups just mentioned, and fought for the Union. nuf said, peace. outta here.
Scots and Scotland would not exist if it were not for Irish emigrants. Thank Ireland
ha ha ha ha ha good one. thats like saying that the Irish wouldn't exist if the african monkeys never jumped from the trees, feck knows mate, feck knows, unless you have a PHD in anthrapology or ancient history, think we should both shut her gobs. peace.

I am surprised more real liberals are not pro-southern secession. We would lose those crazy John Galt Tea Party fanatics. Then Washington D.C. would lose a large chunk of its military personnel. The South would lose the entire motivation for the Stars and Bars reactionary redneck attitude. The rest of the USA might become more like Canada, but without the scheming parliament.
schlachthauz 3 months ago
I am pro-secession for the south. It seems that the problems like excessive religion came after the war. Mississippi has the most religion and most poverty in the USA. Are these two things connected? Perhaps if the south seceded, it would lose its motivation for religion. Czechoslovakia split itself in two peacefully, and it is a small nation. There were no guns or bloodshed during this split. It is known as the "velvet revolution".

The southerners are all loyalists. It doesnt take much, say some money, and they will turn into British ponces and go back to England, even if they are Irish. Its the Ulster Scots in them, they turn Loyalist quick if their pockets are lined. Also the historical animosity with the North and losing the war makes them turn to the Queen.
schlachthauz 3 months ago
@schlachthauz I have lived in the South my entire life and have never met a man still loyal to Britain. We're American Southrons. Not Brits living in another land. If given the chance to fight for anyone, it wouldn't be some foreign state across the seas, it would be for independence of our own land.
PookieDude1 3 months ago
@PookieDude1 I lived in Georgia one time. I cant imagine many of those people as doing any real fighting or anything. If the Union invaded the South now, the most southerners would do would probably be to call the state highway patrol, get out drug sniffing dogs, and possibly fine union soldiers for restitution on imaginary auto vandalism.
schlachthauz 3 months ago
@schlachthauz Well, I'm truly sorry that those in the area you lived in were that way. They do not represent the whole South. Every Southerner I know would not only willingly, but eagerly fight for the Southern cause. Even for the US Armed Forces, the strongest military tradition is in the South.
PookieDude1 3 months ago

But the way you guys act in a lot of the south is not very interesting to me personally.
schlachthauz 3 months ago
@schlachthauz I'm glad that you don't want to hate anything blindly. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with some locals in a Georgia town. There are plenty of jerks in the south, just like every other place. Most people who move south are surprised by how nice the locals are and I'm sorry you had bad luck. You need to take a look at your demand for people to change their religion. It is unreasonable. The south is more tolerant. Different views are allowed, unless they are bullying views.
stellalouise1 3 months ago
@stellalouise1 The rich people and rednecks in Georgia both gave me problems. I have spent time in the Golden Isles, Atlanta, and Savannah. The barrier islands are extremely annoying. The rich people and Christians there are too much for my tiny little mind to deal with.

Calengela 4 months ago
@Calengela Irish have contributed much to the world over time, they kept christianity alive during the dark ages, splendid passionate music & rhyme, literature, poetry, architecture & construction. The White house was designed by an Irishman. The father of th US navy was an Irishman, as was Argentina's first Admiral of the fleet, who was key in liberating Argentina from its colonial master. Great Irishmen liberated and founded many south american military's, navy's etc 2 many achievements 2 list
ScotiExile 4 months ago
@ScotiExile Furthermore, Irish contributions fail in comparison to the vast creations of Scotland. The Scottish enlightenment outshines Irish achievement by a considerably large degree.
Again, you go back in the past to a revised made up Irish history inspired by Catholic Irish Paedophilia and talk about long long ago, the dead days that are irrelevant to the question of what Ireland is good for today.
The US Navy was founded by Scotsman John Paul Jones, not an Irishman (or Plastic Pladdie).

@TheTwollocks
Cybopath 4 months ago
@Cybopath Most Scots are Caledonian Pictish, there is more modern evidence to show that Dál Riata was indigenous to Scotland also.
'Celtic' is found to be understood for the Victorian romantic idiocy that it was by Brian Sykes in 2006 and James Simpson in 1999.
The Scots certainly aren't the same as Irish, the Scots are more to do with Nordic Scythians than the Iberian Milesians that the Irish are.
Calengela 4 months ago
@Calengela

ScotiExile 4 months ago
@ScotiExile "ALBA" is now widely considered to be a Pictish root word, hence why it's Scotland's true name to this day as it's Pictish, 'ALBA' is cognate with the entire isles of Great Britain's ancient name 'ALBION'.
It's even now believed that Dál Riata was indigenous to Scotland and they went into Antrim to set up trade routes, not the other way around, Google "Irishtribesman the Scots did not come from Ireland".
There is virtually no evidence to support the Irish made myth that you go by.
Calengela 4 months ago
@ScotiExile 'Celtic' is a Plastic Paddie ideological belief that has outlived it's relevance, many Plastic Paddies and Catholic revisionists want to think of it as a racial ethnicity, so it's thanks to the seminal works of Simon James (1999) and Brian Sykes (2006) that it can be understood for the Victorian romantic idiocy that it is.
Scots are by far and wide Pictish (ancient Scots), even Brian Sykes work proved that two thirds of the Hebrides (formally Dál Riata) can trace Pictish origin.
Calengela 4 months ago
@TheTwollocks The Saxons never made it to Scotland, the Angles who did only made it as far as southern Scotland, no further than Edinburgh. Plus the Caledonian Picts (Early Scots) drove them out at the Battle of Dunnichen, the Scot/Picts lured the Angles north by making them think they were retreating but they were actually luring the Angles into more hostile territory in north Scotland, then the Scot/Picts drove them to the Loch and slaughtered them.
Calengela 4 months ago
@Calengela
Glad we agree on some history. The three most important battles of Scottish history The Battle of Mons Grampus, Battle of Dunnichen and Battle of Brunanburgh, without them there would be no Scotland.

The Lowlands where not Anglo-Saxon, only Bercinia was any real Angle presence in (Modern Scotland) Which stretched the far east coast across Berwick only as far as the forth. The more American's embrace their European roots the less xenophobic they should be about other countries and after all their history can't go back further than 400 years and so merges with ours. The Yank plastic bastard who uploaded this made a fatal mistake in the title by saying Scots/Irish as if they were the same thing, when they're not.
Scots = Native Caledonian Picts
Irish = Celt Gael invaders from Iberia (Modern day Spain)
Scots and Irish are different people with their own origins, own anthems, own flags, own cultures, own religions and own history.
segano1 8 months ago
@segano1 You are an idiot!! The Scots-Irish otherwise known as Ulster Scots are an ethnic group made up of Scottish families who migrated to the Ulster plantations in the 1600's. More Than 200,00 of these people migrated to the American colonies in the 1700's they fought in the Revolutionary war as well as the Civil War.I am a proud Ulster Scot. Get your facts right next time.
catastrophewaitres78 6 months ago
@catastrophewaitres78 An idiot!? Remind me who the Yank is here? Ulster-Scots are not Irish when in Ireland, Ireland is an island with two countries on it, 1.Ulster 2.Rep.Ireland.
You're talking about events that happened hundreds of years ago.
Yankees don't even come into it because the USA isn't a bunch of abandoned colonies any more, anybody born in America isn't a Scot, Ulster-Scot or Irish at all.
segano1 6 months ago
@catastrophewaitres78
Segano is a typical ignorant and thick British scot who wants to deny their genuine Irish ancestry and instead pretend they are English.
All Scots are of Irish blood, the dictionary does not lie.
Only English wannabes like Segano do.

@irishaware
Cybopath 4 months ago
@Cybopath What is it with people like you? You come on a website and start telling people about their own history? How do you know the Irish went to the West Coast of Scotland? Oh that's right, you read it or heard it somewhere. Stop talking about history like you know everything. It was hundreds of years ago now, and chances are everything you just said is a load of shite.
MICKYMAVYT 4 months ago
@MICKYMAVYT

@MICKYMAVYT
Cybopath 4 months ago
@MICKYMAVYT The Scots are not Irish you retard, it's a common misconception that spread as far as it did because of religion.
Google "Irish tribesman the Scots did not come from Ireland".
Plus you can't be Irish any way unless you were born and bred there by native birthright, otherwise you are just a foreigner.
Scots are their own people.

Calengela 4 months ago
@Calengela Scotland in latin: Land of the Irish. Descendants of the Irish GAELS gave concieved Scotland. Ireland was called Scotia prior to Scotland being called it. The lineage of the Irish Gaels made Alba great, not the naked painted picts, although they did assist.
One of the later Stewart Kings, King James, even proclaimed that he was sprung of the Fergus race (referring to Fergus Mor of Ireland, the first proper King of scots)
The Irish Gaelic people have much to be proud of.
ScotiExile 4 months ago
@ScotiExile That's pure proper bullshit "Land of the Irish?!" ROFL!!!! Never have I heard so mush shite in all my time on Youtube, you must be a Catholic Irish revisionist, correct? 'Scoti' is the Latinisation of the ancient Greek 'Skotto' (Darkland), yes the ancient Greeks knew of the Pict/Scots long before the Romans did, they spoke of an Orcadian Pictish navy they feared.
Calengela 4 months ago
@ScotiExile The word 'Irish' never even existed until the 1600's when your Papist master Pope Leo X imposed that name on you, before that Ireland's true name in Latin was 'Hibernia', Gaels weren't a people, it was a language, plus it wasn't Irish either as they were separate from the rest of Ireland. In Irish it was pronounced "Gaylick", the Scots called the Irish and their Gaylick language as "Erse" - Scots for 'Arse' which was cognate for Ireland's Gaylick name "Eire".
Calengela 4 months ago
@ScotiExile The Scots are much more leaning towards Nordic and Scythian style and origin as they are by far and large Pictish and are very similar to Vikings, the Irish are Iberian invaders from Milesians who came from where modern Spain is today.
"Celtic" is a modern made up term by an English linguist from the mid 1800's who invented it as a grouping of language similarities, it was later hi-jacked by Irish republicans in the early 1900's to link not only language, but people and culture too
Calengela 4 months ago
@ScotiExile All Scotland's first Kings were Picts, from the Pictish dynasty, Constantine and Donald II - as proved in writting on the Pictish king list. Mac Alpín being the first king of Scotland is a myth that has existed for centuries, but what is known now compared to then is that he indeed was of Pictish majority descent as his family majority were.
Scottish land and population history are far older than Ireland's, Scotland's population and habitation pre-date Ireland's by a good 4000 years
Calengela 4 months ago
@ScotiExile "Irish Gaylick people have much to be proud of"?? Yea? Like what?
I don't see what they have to be proud off at all, most of their existence is based on old outdated myths, ripping off Scottish culture and hi-jacking Scottish identity Plastic Paddie style.
Maybe it's because the creation of the modern world can be attributed to Scotland where as Ireland have nothing to be proud off at all but ripping off identities and mass emigration.
What exactly is there to be proud of?
Calengela 4 months ago

ScotiExile 4 months ago
@ScotiExile You sound like a pure racist cunt, "I'm more a Scot than you'll ever be and I'm not from Scotland"!? WRONG! You're not Scottish at all, you're not born native to Scotland, you're not Scottish in any way at all, you are English. As long as you are born in Scotland with at least one Scottish parent then you are Scottish I'd say, regardless of what other you think you are, if you have no Scottish parent and you were born in Scotland then you'd still a Scottish nationalist.
Calengela 4 months ago
@ScotiExile The Caledonian Picts (Ancient Scots) were not from Ireland, so with most Scots being Pictish, that means the Scots certainly are not Irish at all, and the Scots are indeed Caledonian Pictish.
That 'Scotus' word is an old fashioned theory, it's of Latin sound, the 'Tus' at the end for example is a dead give away. And once again, the 'Irish' word did not even exist back then, it never existed until the mid 1600's by Pope Leo X. The ancient Greeks knew of the Scots (Picts) long before .

DrDeist 9 months ago
@thecrusades2 Sorry your data is way outdated. England is predominantly Celtic, more specifically Proto-Celtic, since European R1b of various subclades is progressively being more and more identified with a pre-Bronze age migration from the Ukraine up the Danube and Rhine river valleys that is identified gentically, archaeologically, and linguistically with the Proto-Celts.

@Cionaodh57 : The Irish who fought for the South fought out of love. The Irish who fought for the North were conscripted and fought out of fear and desperation. The Irish were treated worse than animals in the North by the ruling Germanic Anglo-Saxons.

MacliamOg 4 months ago
@MacliamOg The Scots have no masters, they answered to no one, unlike the Irish, the Scottish brand of religion is Presbyterianism, this was a reformation by John Knox who stated that the Scots were Gods chosen people and he wanted Scotland to be the new Jerusalem.
The Ulster land was sold off by the English, hence why just as many English settled in Ulster as Scots.

pikeonfly1 9 months ago
@thecrusades2 When you refer to the ancient British tribes I assume you are not referring to the present general population of England which is surely predominantly descended from the Germanic Jutes, Angles, and Saxons. The ruling English class is genetically Norman - no?. BTW it's nice to know the Scots are still relatively pure - still genetically close to the small but glorious army of Gauls (Kelts) who sacked Rome in 387 BC, overcoming huge disadvantages in manpower and methodology.
DrDeist 9 months ago
@thecrusades2 : "Ancient British" = Kelts. It wasn't until after the Romans abandoned Britain that the Germanic people crossed the Channel to fill the power vacuum left by the Romans. Both Scots and Irish are of KELTIC background. The Scots are primarily Keltic, secondarily Norse; the Irish are primarily Keltic, secondarily Spanish (Moorish genes). The Keltic Empire stretched from modern day Portugal to Syria, from Northern Italy to Scotland. The common language was Gaelic.

Large portions of the South's population was of French descent & Catholic, e.g., General Pierre Gustave-Toutant Bearegard of New Orleans, Louisiana, as well as recent Irish immigrants who came prior to the Union blockade of Charleston, SC because they were farmers in Ireland and wanted to be farmers in the South and not factory line-workers making minimum wage in a northern sweat-shop!

boycey551 8 months ago
@boycey551 Hi, a lot of Ulster-Scots/protestants do celebrate St. Patrick's day as he is credited for bringing Christianity to Ireland but most don't take part in St. Patrick day parades. In America many wear orange on this day. I woudn't go as far as saying Ulster-Scots despise the native Irish (although in the past they would have been enemies for the most part) but they have different cultures for sure.
