@KLsemperFi7 bro for factory trucks used for work, Fords Control Arm is much better than Dodges 4-Link. It's Hallow but very strong. If Fords control arm was solid steel it would weigh 200# lbs each. Fact is Fords control arms have much better leverage and control. Dodge has a history of poor steering components, So what's you're point. Know Yourstuff before you Post It!!!

@Stonemasters11 what I'm saying is not about steering.... the control arms have nothing to do with steering man, I'm talking about how historically, and I'm not being bias, because i realize ford hqas started building very impressive trucks, but again, historically, Ford has had front axle problems snapping and what not. its more about how ford thinks bigger is better when they really havent proven it. 2011 i'll admit, things may change. but until then, ford really isnt bullet proof.

@KLsemperFi7 Axle problems? Its not even a Ford axle, its a Dana 60 solid axle front and rear. It doesn't get any better than Dana. I know a lot of people including myself, that beat their super dutys very heard off road and never had any axle or control arm problems.

@powerstroker14, the rear axle is actually a sterling 10.25 (the dana 60 is 9.75), its beefer then the dana 60. the front dana 60 is also a 35 (most dana 60's are 30 spline such as the dodge rear dana 60)

Ford is definitely beefing up their trucks, which is why they weigh almost 1,000 lbs. more than the Dodge and Chevy trucks. The advantage is yes, it is heavier duty. The disadvantage is the vehicle is heavier, which increases stopping distances and decreases fuel economy a little bit. As for me, I'd like my truck to be as heavy duty as I can get it.

I find it funny. When the Ford component is bigger and heavier, it is tougher and stronger. When their competitor's component is bigger and heavier it is wasteful and zaps fuel economy.

@stchman that's because Ford puts weight where it's needed. I would think the Hub Carrier takes a ton of abuse, especially in a work environment.  Bottom line is Ford Superduties are significantly heavier than there opponents because of the HD Platform and Parts.
