@SyrianHamsterNetwork I had this cage for my dwarf hamsters, so yes it is a excellent cage. Just if you have dwarfs then get this one but if you have regular sized hamsters get a normal cage. The dwarf hamsters can squeeze through the bars of the regular cage. Wouldn't want that, now would we. ;)
@cupcake198919 your welcome!:) Another thing if you wanted a good cage you could look on ebay as they are pretty cheap. mini duna's for example (from the UK), a lot of ham experts like because it gives them a lot of running around room, easy to clean, pretty, and because it doesn't have bars there will be no bar chewing. Anyways Im sure whatever you decide will be great! :)
@cupcake198919 I wouldn't get this, everyone I know who has gotten this has had problems with it. Its pretty small first of all, the more space you can provide, the better. It is very expensive (for a hamster cage). The wheel is squeaky and has holes in it, know two people who's hamsters have broken their legs from getting stuck in the holes. It is pretty load too. Water bottle aalso has a tendency to leak and is a bit finicky. All in all would not recommend this cage. Just my opinion.
umm i have 2 Russian dwarf hamsters did u lean the tubes back or are they up cause if they were up wouldn't they fall through cause iam thinking of getting that but the tubes are really big
Hey I want to get this cage for my dwarfs, their fancy Russians,do you think they would be able to fit in the tubes?and can I keep 2 in this cage or would it be to small?
Yeah once you get the cage you realize there are some downfalls to it. My dwarves fit in these small tubes but they couldn't get up the stairs to the food very easily so I glued popsicle sticks to them and it worked great! The water bottle is a pain in the but to fill and the wheel is HORRIBLE. One of my hamsters died from getting her foot stick in the opening, spun around and broke her back. Get the silent spinner to replace it! Overall it's a great cage!
@sensationaddict69 thanks for letting me know about the hamster wheel....one of my hamsters couldnt move and died peacefuly but no one knows how it happend R.I.P. I will get the silent one saturday THANK YOU
The design of this cage is SO COOL, but I had to leave the tubes out, my hamster did not fit into them. Also, the water bottle leaks too much. But the worst is the wheel, that has these holes where their little feet could get stuck. Tonight is her fisrt night in the cage and I'm worried. Last but not least, she can't reach the food bowl, and keeps falling from the staircase. Despite all that she loves her new cage. Hope to have helped anyone thinking about get one of these.
@pacalilo66 I've just got this cage and have just been to the shop with my eight year old to choose two Russian dwarf hamsters. They are two months old but they can barely get along the tubes as they are so narrow. Even when we laid the tubes flat, they could only just manage it. These hamsters are going to grow to be 12cm long, yet according to the habitrail website, this cage is OK for all dwarf species including Russian and Roborofski (not sure of spelling). I want my money back!
Any of those rodents would be fine in this cage. Which attachment on the left are you asking about? I got the basic cage set from Petco and all the accessories from critter-cages but lots of websites and stores carry the dwarf ovo now. The wheel included is an okay wheel but it has this line down the center of it that little rodent feet can get stuck in and they can die from it. I would recommend getting the silent spinner and just using the stand that comes with it
ok, so firstly, would 2 of mice/gerbils/russian dwarf hamsters/ robrovski be ok in here (I havent chosen which one yet :) )? also, what is that extra attachment on the left? is it a maze? where did you get all the cages and stuff? would it be better to get a different wheel to the one included? Thanks....
umm hey i have question again ummm like i dont realy want to spend that much on the hamster rii cause hell end up dieing in liek 3 years i was wondering if he needs a seperate placfe to do his bussinise or not cause im going to buy one you have and transporter and that s it is that ok?
Not at all! I had 2 hamsters in this cage at one time and they were both trying to run on the wheel and one of the hamsters foot got stuck in the openings and the other hamster spun her around and she broke her back and died. If you have only 1 hamster in the cage it should be fine. I've never heard of a hamster that lived in the cage alone dying from a wheel incident.
Hey! the wheel that appears in the video is safe? I"m talking about the openings in the middle. I"m thinking about buying one but yet i"m not sure : S
who has this cage that can give me a review... do you need to position the tubes differently so the hamsters can climb up them? please message me! will sub first 10 people to message me back!
It is chinchilla dust. The Kaytee brand and yes you can use it for hamsters. You can also use the Criiter Sand that you find in the hamster isle of the pet stores.
DionEProduction: Aw that stinks that your hamster can only go up half way. He/she will eventually get better at climbing the tubes and be able to go up all the way. It took my hamsters a little while to learn! That's a good idea to lay it flat since your hamster couldn't get up!
It just depends on how you design it. Dwarf hamsters have a really hard time getting up the regular habitrail tubes. If you have them at an angle or flat then yes.
Yes they can! I have had 2 Robos in this exact cage and the did fine with the tubes. At first it might take them a little while to get used to them but they will be climbing them in no time!
I'm not a fan of the Crittertrail cages because they are very flimsy but the one I do like is the Crittertrail Discovery. If you have more than one hamster I would get the Discovery Deluxe. It's really big and is actually nicely designed.
I love the Habitrail cages and would highly suggest one of those. Other than that I would suggest a 20 gallon long tank, or any basic cage that has a plastic bottom and wire top just make sure the bar spacing is okay for hamsters!
One dwarf could live in that but it's better to get more than just the main unit and a den. The hamster will get really bored super fast.
Think about it...would you like to live in your room and bathroom your whole life? Or would you like to live in your whole house? The whole ovo suite is like our whole house. The main unit and den is like our room and bathroom. Always get the biggest cage possible.
Thanks So Much!! My Mom Bought The Habitrail Ovo Suite For Syrain Hamster But i Seen That There Was The Dwarf Hamster Version!! So Tomorrow I Will Be Getting It:) I WILL POST A VID WHEN IT IS DONE:D and if you can suscribe i suscribed:)
