Just a questions as I don't have the game myself; Do you have to wait for the characters to finish saying their standard line every time you talk to them? If it is possible can't you skip that opening line and go straight to what you need to talk to them about?

@Tinaroo you can skip, sometimes mid-dialog, though, it doesnt quite work, however when you see that icon that says talk to, where the crosshairs should be, dialog has not started yet, sometimes if they are in the middle of a line when you start to talk to them, it has an issue with the skipping, and sometimes it has an issue with it just for the sake of doing so, it doesnt crash it, but sometimes it does force you to listen to them finish. it's never really too bad though.
