That might have been partially true in the 1700s but Australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world. the people who inhabit this land come from all corners of the world, and lets not forget Australia's Aboriginal and Torress Straight Islander heritage. the statement you have made is the epitome of ignorance and i think that most Australian's (including myself) would be extremely offended by what you have written.

p.s. most convicts sent to Australia in the first fleet were there because of petty thefts induced only by extreme desperation and poverty. for example; stealing a loaf of bread to feed one's starving family.
