Thank you Sandy Frank for bringing this to America. It's not your fault that America had strict FCC guidelines to follow. I know it's a watered down version of the original Gatchaman series in Japan, but at least were thankful that it got here in this form than nothing at all. G-Force! So haters, quit bitching about BOTP and be thankful!
I used to get up early, before everyone else, in the summertime, grab some watermelon out of the fridge, head to an unfinished basement, curl up in a sleeping bag on a concrete floor, and watch G-Force then Johnny Quest on a small black n white tv that only got 4 channels.... AND LOVED IT.
yes, princess was hot as fuck. she was also strong as fuck. she could take care of herself. the one time she needed to be rescued was because she was thinking of mark. damnit jason, control your woman
1:13 Gawd, I always have loved Princess' white panties. I would happily buy a used pair from her and vacuum sealed it in a plastic bag to preserve her scent.
Did G-Force ever do that whirlwind move you see in the intro. They might have but I don't recall ever seeing a episode when they did that move.... I do have the Battle of the Planets DVD but It doesn't not have every episode of the series.
@Astraldragon1 I remember them doing that move. I really do not remember which episode it was though since it has been a LONG time since I have seen the series.
@ctswardour@Astraldragon1 Actually I do have a very vague memory of the episode they did that in. It was an episode where Princess and one of the other ones was captured and the rest had to go rescue them.
The Original as in the real 1972 Japanese version or the mid eighties "original" ?
The mid eighties (and nineties) dub of Gatchaman was stil censored and a lot of stuff, not meant for children acording to US broadcasting mongers, was still edited out.. And I'm not even touching the horrible voice acting and soundtrack of those re-dubs.. They were a million times worse than BotP.. ;)
But if you're talking about the original Japanese Gatchaman I'd have to agree..
In the UK in the early 80's we only had BoTP and didn't have G-Force or any other versions.
I remember watching BoTP as a kid and getting irked by the 7Zark7 character (which of course we all know was created to fill in the narrative gaps cause by all the censorship) and felt like something was being kept from me.
20 years later I managed to see the original 1972 Gatachman and it all made sense.
@X0oMALKAVo0X i watched it in the 70's. it was HIGHLY censored by the 80's. i doubt it even showed them slapping each other, or tiny throwing soldiers over the edge of a spaceship. or even zoltar being a hermaphrodite. that show was before its time for that thing alone. at least to american audiences.
7-zark-7 was added by the Americans apparently. Not in the original Jap version.

I used to watch this when I was a kid but even then I wondered how all the alien galaxies from beyond space all spoke English.
