Talking Phonebook: Eyes-Free Communication Device

It's very cool. Always wished I could control the phone while I am not looking at it, like when I am driving. I hope you guys improve it more to make it easier to use. Still the interface looks hard to learn for me.

mcmurph, it seems like Raman, the narrator of this video, is himself blind. (check other videos by EyesfreeAndroid) I guess that's how he could come up with developing this kind of cool HCI.

Sheesh,

- switch off auto focus

- put the device flat on a table and don't move it around

- don't cover important things with your fingers

- better explain the circles

- show something more interesting than an empty screen for one minute at the beginning

- make sure the device is in the recorded area

Awesome, this is really something ive been waiting for - good work - my nokia can do this but it must be at the OS level and not from J2ME.

OMG, you are REALLY long winded and slow speaking! It was rather painful sitting through all of that.. and that ROBOT VOICE - who can understand what he/she is saying?! a real voice would be MUCH MUCH better..

glad i have an iphone - much better vision free dialing for that phone than android. its simple - THAT is the key

Hi

I'm the developer of "A Special Phone". An iPhone application intended to help people with special disabilities to make phone calls using the iPhone.

The application was released Friday, april the 3rd at 1am and it's available for download at the app store.

The word must know that an iPhone app also exists for people with special needs and it has several advantages over Google "Eyes-Free" :)
