iff you dont like girls girls girls, then you must be a shirtlifter, fag, bummer, back door bandit, turd burglar, fairy, queer, floppy johnson. Either that or french, frog, snail eaters, smelly twat, b.o. boys, or nearly as bad, a jerry, kraut, nazi, german.
england forever!! eurozone, europe and the euro, kiss my english ass
@reeferskankpot Thanks from the German fan base and webmaster and all us Germans who just returned from Sailor's fantastic headline concert in Germany (where they still have their biggest success). Shall report this as spam then or just block it?!
Feiret min 30 års-dag i 1976. En av gjestene hadde med denne plata, og "Girls, girls, girls" og "A glass of Champagne" blei spilt non-stop hele kvelden!!!
@quarkwrok well if they dont like girls, they must be shirtlifters, queers, fags, fairys, bummers, back door bandits, turd burglars, floppy johnsons, or french, frogs, smelly twats. or maybe even krauts, jerrys, germans, england forever, europe and the euro?? kiss my english ass
Sailor seemed more like a precursor to Spandau Ballet, etc. The song "Girls, Girls. Girls" is also a great example of 70's camp - not a million miles away from our beloved Queen. It's still crap though - I'll give you that.
Love this band brings back great memories, saw em live at Newcastle city hall. Believe Kajunas was one of the most under rated writers of the modern times
This is wonderful! I remember Sailor from the charts in 1976 when I was 6 or 7 and I never forgot Glass of Champagne and this one.
What strikes me about this live performance is just how damn tight they are as a band! They may have been pushed as a teenybopper's Roxy Music but they were far more than that. Bloody good musicians!
this song is brilliant-timeless and everytime it is played everyone says they love it-i play this song in my exercise classes sometimes before the class starts along with other classics-just fantastic-long may it continue-
There was a phase termed "Camp Rock" and it was largely costumes as part of the show. It's all about entertainment, folks! On stage, you project a persona, to suit the circumstances. You must be larger than life to appear 'normal' away on the stage or through the deadening effect of TV. And this is all about entertainment and fun.
@Sailormarinero LOL, just not the most masculine sound, may be thats how it was in the UK in 1976, but what do I know, I was living in Mississippi in 1976 and was 5 years old....LOL. Have fun at the concert.
I remember these guys too about the same age when I was living in England. Seemed like they only on the music scene for a short while and disappeared...
@FredWebberking They are still around today (actually play a big show in Hamburg this evening! ;-)). They had two huge hits in the 90s in Germany, Holland etc, too, and still play live with 3 original band members.
far out i also heard this one when i was around 7-8 years old... first music i was in doubt about, because its so groovy and corny at the same time...
Fab song and has a certain something that's missing from today's music. What could that be? Oh yes, I know! It's called a melody. Why it's been so long since I heard one I'd almost forgotten it once existed.
Bought their Album in the seventies. Adore Sailor. Don't know what everyone else is talking about but thank you so much for posting this. Paul O'Grady played them a few weeks ago and it brought back such good memories. Ta again x
Another one of these great 70years songs, that stood for a way of life. We were allowed to have a lot of different girls and prudery was not modern...
When i was about eleven i loved this song and a girlie that i fancied called me a softie- she liked stuff like Led Zepelin etc. Now she's married & fat. I'm not. Fair enough.
So maybe this will sound not very magnanimous to some people here with a different bodytype but can't help it: Hail to the skinny kids with a cool taste in music ! Time is on our side ! :)
In short yes. Sadly yes but that's cos pan's people drove me to distraction and i used to want to see the band not a bunch of girls flitting about the stage- and i know that was 10. Yikes! ;0)
The band still consists of three original members plus new singer today and is also still on tour. No mimers, btw. And some careers, too. Phil Pickett co-wrote 'Karma Chameleon' for example. Eh ;-)
