It does NOT feel like yesterday you played it, but the coleco vision was in my opinion the best console ever made. Just because of all extra modules and shit. D:
Anybody ever get one of these open? It's like trying to open a Colecovision itself for the first time.
What's the trick? I have some unresponsive buttons but I can't get to them. I've taken 4 screws out and it seems like it wants to unsnap, but I don't want to break it.
My thoughts were always do the trigger buttons get in the way whilst playing?
I mean having triggers for all four fingers doesn't leave you with anything to grip on to, kinda like why a gun only have a trigger for the index finger.
I can't speak for others but I have big hands and I find them very good for grip and control! So much better than the stock controllers. They are sturdy yet incredibly light, once you get used to it, it works very well............
Yes I did, wasn't sure what they were until I snapped them into place. Well funny I can pretty much adjust to any controller but I did find the original controllers a little uncomfortable after a while, even at that early age when I orignally had thee Colecovision I quickly got efficient at disassembling the controllers to clean and fix them, the directions response did wear down after a while (I probably just over played it)
No it wasn't, if you open the orignal controllers the contact pads for direction literally wore down, by re-stretching the spring to increase pressure and rubbing a pencil eraser on the contacts the would once again be responsive, this I did back when I was like 15 years old....
No I have none of my original systems as a kid, I lost them all through the years for various reasons, slowly regaining and reliving my childhood through Ebay purchases heh...
So THAT's where Activision got the idea for the Guitar Hero Grip for the DS! :P Aside from the size, I don't see why they didn't release the joystick for other systems! I mean Grip + Joystick = sommmmmething I've not tried before, yet wanna. Or something. ;)
I've been wanting to get some Super Action controllers. I don't know why I havn't yet. I think that I am one of the minority that find the stock Coleco controllers to be excellent. I can play many hours of Defender and Donkey Kong using the stock controllers. Good job on the review, everything looks to be in good condition.
Ah yes, well I never owned these originally so I really wanted to get them, I like that they are much lighter than they would appear and yes they were in amazing condition and working order. Like you though I never had a problem with the stock controllers either, in fact even at the age of 15 or so I was good at taking them apart to clean and adjust them, I am certainly not as talented as many modders out there but I have been taking my toys apart and figuring them out for years!
Thanks DB! I appreciate that coming from you someone who is has actually programed Colecovision titles! I defintely plan more CV videos, this was literally a test run and something I have been wanting to do, I have been getting great responses all around and so you can be sure more are coming.
what is the website you mentioned, I am not a nativ speaker and cannot understand it.
Thanks

Damn, that system was toooooo advanced for its time.
They had anything, Steeringwheel, Actioncontrollers, Computer-Modul and so on.
I will always love it!

Ha, great one.

That's a serious controller!
I am jealous -- I would have loved that when i was much younger.
That controller itself would sell the Colecovision.
If you have a color scanner/printer, you could easily duplicate that overlay for your second controller.

Did you also get the extension grips for bigger hands?
But old sticks were awesome, they built them to last in those days (not counting the 5200 controller obviously ^_^)

It could just be dirt/grime getting in the way, I've had that a few times, Especially N64 controllers.
Do you still own any of the machines you had as a kid?

Hello Rob,
"your vision is our vision, colecovision" that's the slogan, and I like to think it still the case today.
I like your video about the super action game controllers, and I hope to see some more colecovision related video from you in the future.
Best Regards, D.B.
