I've watched the entire show. Dong Xie appears a lot in the show and his appearance is indeed impressive. Nan Di appears but does not get involved much unfortunately because he was seriously injured after using Yi Yang Zhi and Xian Tian Gong to heal Huang Rong.
i've watched ariel's other dramas before and o boy, can this girl act? yes she can! one of the most versatile actresses i've ever seen. she can be angsty in tokyo juliet & love contract but adorable in fairy in wonderland & iswak. i understand how some people think she doesn't have huang rong look, but i believe this lass will deliver the character well.
that's true. an actor/actress should pursue diverse roles. but uh...lets just say, we don't see jim carey in horror/bloody films that often. and there's a reason behind it. another example -- will this girl ever be suitable to play the character xiao-long-nu (sry for my spelling)? i don't think so.
i'm sorry but this girl will kill the series. she's not fit for this type of role where a sense of 'intelligence' is required (well i mean the girl she's playing is REALLY clever in many ways). i guess she's good at playin the traditional dumb and airhead-y characters b/c she sort of has the look for 'em

I loved Ariel in ISWAK and especially Fairy in Wonderland. Please actually watch all the versions (especially the 83 version) and READ the book before deciding on who's the best Huang Rong. I commend her for losing weight to keep in image of Rong'er, though.
I'm glad that she did. Huang Rong's cuteness isn't "baby fat but unintelligent ISWAK cuteness" but of "clever cuteness." I'm also really glad that they made Hu Ge uglier in the show because Guo Jing isn't suppose to be nearly as attractive as Hu Ge.

Well Ling Yi Chen really is a very good actress and is 25 years old and if you want to get technical, huang rong was only in her mid-teens in the book, so of all the people who has played the role in the past, she is relatively close to the age range compared to like zhou xun...
Zhou Xun sucked, though...her voice killed it all. And age isn't really a factor unless the age difference is huge. But we'll see. Barbara wasn't that smart looking, neither, or goddess like, but she pulled the witty, clever, and cute Huang Rong perfectly. Ariel was pretty clever in Fairy in Wonderland, though, but I hope she remembers that Huang Rong's not just clever and innocent, she's almost cruel in her cleverness and completely ignorant of other's feelings.
i like old one better...the music is more touching and very well done for She Diao...and the scenery setting is better...art direction and everything...ators are more mature too

拍摄水准一直都是在进步的,画面比旧版还差应该很难了,倒是武打场面,其实都是有略微提高了速度的,拍摄的时候没这么快

Hu Ke is not the right type for Kuo Gien. He is too thin and looks too smart. I liked his role in previous drama better.
