@Halofreakanoid uh, ok.. would you please explain for me what a kill shot is in this kind of reenactment then. As the top comment wrote "i saw about 20 kill shots in the first 15 seconds". Is it some kind of scoring like in boxing or what?
let me just say. even if they didn't, by some miracle, die instantly from the hits, they would have a total of one limb left after this fight. the one you never see in the video. and even that might be gone.
also, the guy loses his axe about 3/4 of the way through. if the other guy wasn't so merciful, he would have been sooooo screwed....
Because we strike with full speed and full force, and with weapons that weigh as much as steel weapons. If you dont believe me when i say that armor is necessary, try attending an SCA fighting practice.
@ the people commenting on the numerous killing blows: Yes, there was a great number of killing blows. The fighters did not follow the normal rules of SCA fighting, and did this instead, for fun. Both of them know a killing blow from a nonkilling one, trust me.

Totally agree.
You can play around for sport with steel swords, but steel axes, spiked maces, billhooks, etc. are just too dangerous.
