That's what we need: Applications that make use of all the energy swallowed by these new PCs designed for gamers and XP users, sporting a 400 Watt power supply. Don't say we heat up our planet in vain - we get 3D effects for it!
kde 4 is putting in some effort here. I am eager to try out kde 4 when it becomes more stable. but for compositing effects, we should all just stick to beryl/compiz/compiz + beryl.kde 4 needs more work.
You'd be better off emulating the plugins in compiz and beryl as they strike a balance of eye-candy and functionality which these currents videos aren't really conveying.
Oh stop crying. If you don't like it there will be options to turn it off. It's for those of us who like having our computer do fancy things every know and then when we're bored other then type in a terminal and output stuff.
It has been posted in other KWin videos... the man who recorded them said that the recorder put an incredible and unreal overload over effects. In short, multiply x 3, at least, smoothness and speed of everything you are looking at.
Its still bloody useless.... I like eye-candy but it should be functional, this is not functional, rather its making the GUI less useable which is even worse..

hmm wobbly windows I liked, wavy windows I don't... sorry that looks pretty useless to me.

Hmm... can you actually use the windows while they're like that? E.g. click buttons, type in terminal? That's pretty funny!
