This guy is absolutely right. I spent most of my middle school and high school days fantasizing about scoring goals in lacrosse. And for some strange reason I was the best lacrosse player in town, and I wasn't very athletic either I just had a good idea for most situations on the field. I heard that you benefit 85% of actually physically doing something when you visualize or fantasize about whatever it is your doing. Merry Christmas people.
Great lesson, you are amazing!!!!! If possible could you makea video concerning Eric Clapton style licks? I would be really grateful if you did!!! Merry Christmas!!!!!
Very interesting concept, however, being able to see, hear and feel certain scales and chord shapes means you'll need to have practiced them enough with the guitar firstly doesn't it? I know if I went to visualise, for example, a C major scale, I'd be able to see it and hear it with little problem as I've rehearsed it numerous times previously. Conversely, if I were to try to recall modes of the melodic minor, for example, I'd struggle as I'm not so familiar with the shapes and sounds.
That is such a great idea, maybe we could get a helping hand on chord recognition in actual songs that are playing, I like trying that as I listen to songs on the radio.
Just wanted to say you are a GURU!!! sick videos someone needs to write an article about you in some crazy guitar magazine so you can get the recognition you deserve !!! keep the hard work well keep working harder too :)
Such an interesting technique! I really love some of these more "philosophical" videos, it really helps me to understand the guitar, music, and myself better!
Does anyone know that if you're practicing with visualization, would it help to listen to that same song on your iPod as well? Or instead of offering more precise information for your brain, would that be distracting because that's not truly what you're "playing" in your visualization session?
Visualisation is a great work to get note nates, intervals on the guitar neck, scale shapes, chord shapes, arpeggios, and key signatures memorized. Whenever I'm not near a guitar and have a moment to think, I devote it to running through major scale patters in my head and rehearsing songs so that when I pick up my guitar, they'll come out with little thought or effort
Wow, that was a really good lesson. I like to look at playing guitar (and not only) in other ways and angles. I looked at net to find something more about this topic, there is some but not much, so if you can post another lesson about this, or (if it is) please give name of programs or lessons of visualizations techniques.
I just started doing this last year, when my girlfriend was watching tv I would imagine playing in this way, always thinking in scale degrees and trying to play the pitches in my mind. I can say that this technique really does open your relationship with the guitar and also improved my ear a lot. I'm just glad I'm not crazy and there are other people that do this!
how come they didnt teach me nlp when i went to mi...??

I think that many artist's reside their inspiration here unintentionally. I know that I used to use this without knowing what it was.
