I eat shark meat and it is good, a shark is no different than any other fish, save for the fact it is powerful enough to eat a person. Pulling tons of them won't do much for the environment except make more room for us to fish within the ecosystem. WE as humans are the apex predator in the seas, make no mistake. Killing and eating a ton of sharks just makes the ecosystems survive longer as they are eating less of OUR food in the ocean.

Clasen did not spear the fish from behind. He shot it in the gills in an attempt to make the kill as humane as possible. Furthermore, the shark was not making 'passes,' but rather circling them and closing in.

The only thing to say, then, would be that he has been hailed as a top free diver for years and has seen countless sharks without killing any of them.

What the clever editing does not show is the passive shark eating the tuna he had already speared. Then circuling the divers, with its pectoral fins down in hunting mode, clearly ready for dessert.

Ha... I'm a full time marine bio student and dive often ;) There's a man who swam with a great white and he did not kill him... This was pure sport hunting. This shark showed no signs of aggression towards this diver.. why was he killed? If people are diving they need to know the risks it comes with. If you swim in a shark area then expect to meet one and be ready to swim out instead of killing an endangered animal. The oceans do not belong to humans.

you are obviously not a very good marine bio student...great whites are much safer than tiger sharks. Great whites have specific prey that they go for, and when they do attack humans, it is usually because they have mistaken them for sea lions. Tiger sharks are opportunistic predators, and will feed on anything they come across that looks like food. Look at the stats and you'll see that tiger sharks are responsible for FAR more attacks than most other species. Don't be ignorant.

Think is if people like him go snorkelling or diving - they need to know the risks. For example there's people in aus that go swimming with seals in a shark infested area and then wonder why that person lost her leg. That shark showed no signs of aggression.
