Mary didn't die a Virgin, read the original Greek. Jesus had brothers - adelphoi - born to the same mother. The modern Virgin Mary cults are just a new version of pagan worship of the pre-Christian mother goddesses such as Isis.

When statues were first erected, the majority of people could not read. So the church commissioned many of these images, to help explain the bible stories to the illiterate. Now these images are used as a focal point. Catholics do not worship Mary, but they do honor her, and ask for her assistance.

Cleary God says don't make an image of something is Heaven and to not bow down to it "a4wardrunner" is a liar.

correct, when man makes an image he makes it for worship, the times when God tells man to make an image it is not for worship but to illustrate God's message, Catholics make statutes on their own accord for worship, Man's intention is to worship Mary instead of Jesus, catholics believe Mary has more clout in heaven than Jesus, Catholics call it veneration but it's the same idolatry. God does not tell them to make statues to sin, Catholic freely make them in disobedience :(

@lilihut, I can give you more scriptures where God hates this, He hates when mankind does that because he wan't them to realize him through the spirit and not through any solid object. If you read his complaints to the prophets like Ezeikiel, Isaiah, Obadiah, Hosea etc you will seen his hatred towards image representations. We know God by faith not by sight.

This goddess was worshipped as the queen of heaven, the mediator b/ God & humanity & supposedly she was the one who could appease her angry son. These are the same teachings from the Catholic church. The statues of this goddess(semiramis, isis) with her baby are the same the catholic church has of mary with baby Jesus. The catholic church is blaspheming God’s words.

You don't worship Mary, you simply pray to her to pray for Jesus. Jesus is the only one you should pray to. By the way if a statue is in a church and it's been blessed i don't see why it's a problem to bow to it. It's all about how you feel, how you pray and what you're actually trying to say to jesus that matters. I guess it's much harder to explain in words than i thought.
