Brodeur is way better than Sawchuk. The shots Sawchuk got weren't nearly as powerful and accurate as the ones Brodeur has to face. Brodeur could not play without a helmet, it would be too dangerous. Sawchuk could do it because it was not the same style of hockey back then. Players did not have big curves on their sticks and their shots were almost always low and weak...

BRODEUR WILL ALWAYS BE THE GREATEST GOALTENDER! NOBODY WILL EVER BEAT HIS RECORDS.

@devils16842 if broduer in sawchuk played int he same era, broduer wouldn't have 1 shut-out cuz he'd dive out of the way of the puck cuz he's a pussy. and broduer played with great teams and giant pads, sawchuk played with shitty teams, shitty pads, and no fucking mask.

@Slipknot5301 those are all suppositions... you can't say he wouldn'T get a single shutout. Sawchuk wouldn't get one in the actual nhl, much faster game and he would not be as good . Don't get me wrong, Sawchuk was a great goalie for his time, but Brodeur is simply better. and I'msure Martin Brodeur would have done great in Sawchuk's era. With his reflexes he would have beaten every record just as he is doing it today.
