  • hey, i'm wondering where or how you set up the clutch, as far as the primary on the crankshaft. Did the old rupp already have a sprocket on the clutch or was it belt drive?

  • @6thGearFilms he took off the belt clutch and put on a centrifical clutch.

  • @murray4141 where did he find that cetrifical clutch at?

  • wtf dude that is the sickest go cart did u use the motor of a yz 2stroke stihl weed wacker i love it so groovy almost made me wana go build one but no ofense id use a bigger enging maybe the one out of my dads ferrari :D you talk to much we just wana see you drive it with ur mouth shut

  • how did you get the converter for the belt to chain swap?

  • tight kart does it go

  • @MrPremiumRestoration thanks for the comment... and you can get the tires any where like craigslist ebay etc.

  • how did you convert it from chain drive to belt drive

  • @murray4141 what clutch is on there and where do i get it?

  • how does the clutch work on that what kind is it hhow did he do that!

  • who ever just watched this wasted 5 minutes of their lives. im sorry

  • @kobebryantsucksbad your a troll that no one loves

  • Did u build the frame u wanna build me just the frame...

  • @cazddplucas11 my dad bought the frame but then changed it a lot. ill get back to you on the other question

  • what do you have driving the chain, is that a centrifugal clutch?

  • @kauster a centrifugal clutch

  • @murray4141 whats the bore on the shaft?

  • @kauster your a homo, and nobody loves you

  • How much HP??

  • @4663GA 440

  • @murray4141 that is the ccs not horse power. 440 horse power is like a modded big block chevy v8

  • @murray4141 Please don't take this as me being a dick but 440 refers to the physical size of the motor it's 440cc's divided between 2 cylinders. I googled rupp 440 hp and on the site oldrupp(.)com and it says this motor is rated at 80hp which on a go cart is freakin crazy.

  • @JcXtreme72 hey thanks for being nice. i had a brain fart and wasn't thinking

  • @murray4141 no thats the cc the engine displacement/frame size not the hp

  • @murray4141 so what..... 35-75?

  • @murray4141 440 horse power, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. i'd say something like 20

  • @murray4141 thats how much CC it has. not horsepower

  • That thing must be vicious for power I have a kohler 440 liquid cooled in my 6x6 and it scares the hell out of me snaps the neck on take off nice car bud I`ve built these for years.

  • @MrMrtiki your a homo, and nobody loves you

  • what is the top speed on the kart going to build one

deciding on what kind of engine to use

  • @richardarichter123 we hit about 78 mph and there was still some left. and that was an 11 on a 55. that's a 5 to 1 gear ratio. i would suggest an air cooled engine because with a water cooled engine you would have to mess with a radiator system. but with any two-stroke engine you have to build a muffler system which is usually difficult.

  • @murray4141 thanls i see looking to build a drag kart for the drag strip seeing how fast 440 is becuase they are so cheap to buy could get a 440 engine for around $200-300

yes you can gear it so goes faster at top end ,probly add a turboo to it 2, looking to get 4stroke probly will get a bigger engine or motorcycle engine will see what is out their right now

thanks for the reply cool kart you got

  • about the clutch, look back at the earlier comments. the shaft on my engine is a common 1" and i just gridded a 1/4 inch key way in it.

  • how did you get the chain on the clutch?

  • about how many feet of tubing did u use?

  • what type of clutch you got on it im gonna make one. i got a sachs 440

  • Dude that is a nice cart I would be proud of that one.

  • Cool little machine,a Rupp Nitro 440 liquid would have been awesome

  • yes, its a 1973 kohler, came off a rupp rally. was having trouble starting.had low compression. i bored out the cylinders/ new pistons, still low compression. i just got new head gaskets and before i install them, i need to find out the best way to prep the head bolts and the correct tork.

  • is the engine a Kohler 440 ?

  • Nice but ur gonna blow that motor up. Sled engines need the pipe and can to run properly. Nice clean job though!!

  • ahhhhhhhhhhh take off the mufflers and straight pipe it please

  • can you please do a video of the clutch on the motor, i havent seen anything like it before

  • @gump54 - Its nothing unusual. Its a centrifugal clutch like any other. Why it looks weird is because the shaft is very long and the shaft goes through the clutch and it has the pads on the other side. Pretty much, regular clutch, turn it around.

  • sweet

  • Hey, I like your kart! I have about the same thing myself. Only think I can't find out is the clutch set up. Would like to know what you got going on yours.

  • thats sweet!! and wheres the air box?? you kinda need that haha

    what was the total cost??

  • Comment removed

  • is that a old u-haul body?

  • where did u buy the parts from i need some weels brake system and rear axle like yours... for my go kart project.. nice go kart by the way

  • @JonathanRinny if you listen it says american power sports dumb ass

  • @Quentonwall oh than next time i'll try and listen better. asshole!

  • @JonathanRinny good seams like you need to dick face

  • Nice job! Looks like alot of fun! Something you should be proud of!

  • Thats one bad lookin machine!

  • nice dual carb setup.

  • May I Ask You Were You Got That Clutch?

  • its a noram v-belt cluch off a honda 8hp concrete machine. i tapped it and bolted a 3/16 plate to it. than welded a coller and gear from tsc to my plate. i also replaced the three shoe springs w/ the tuffest springs noram had. 14 tooth is about as small as you can go. thats why i put on the biggest sprocket possible.14 on a 55 is 3.929 to 1. ill see how well that gear works on the track this spring. if i have to ill try to build a 12 tooth. hope that helps you

  • that looks really badass

  • y did u make it so low to the ground;S

  • It's not a yard kart, it's a racing kart - they're supposed to be that low. They are made for asphalt or dirt track racing.
