@blacuttleo97. Definitely get a beardie they are much more interactive and they are diurnal so they won't be hiding during the day. Bearded dragons also do interesting things like arm waving, head bobbing, bowing, ect.  I hope this helped:-)

@edisonairsoft Maybe a few certain lizards, but I'm sure it isn't recommended. I think I saw a very very large cage / setup with a couple dragons and a tegu(or some other lizard of about the same size)... but I would recommended keeping them alone or with just other dragons.

Can you have both a female & a male same breed bearded dragons live within the same cage, or will they go at each other once placed in the same cage? I love dragons, and hope to eventually own some bearded dragons soon, but like you said, I have never raised or had any bearded dragons before, but I do like them, and have held them, stilll kind of unsure which breed I would like to get though. Well I listened to the pet shop but its a small mom and pop owned place that I assume has no corporate interests. They recommended a bearded dragon for my autistic son, he got off the bus a few hours ago and they are both playing. One small problem though was I noticed he was on his back at one point. Is there any reason for concern? Also when do I turn on and off the light. Thanks.

@blacuttleo98 I have a few videos on best beginner reptiles/lizards. Either are good choices. Leopard geckos are much less expensive to setup initially and to keep, but dragons I find more entertaining and fun to own.

@Magmortar21 I've had good luck ordering online. Pet shops also 'order online' and have their livestock shipped to them. You are basically cutting out the 'middle man' if you order directly. If you order from a quality company, they should also have a good health policy and good customer service if anything happens to go wrong.

@CREAMYFILMS mine have never bitten. They require daily food and cleaning of their cage about once a week. Price can range from $30 to $100+ depending on age and variety.

@R3PTIL3LOV3R123 for a baby dragon, start with mainly insects. Crickets are best as the 'main' food, then you can also feed other insects, like superworms, mealworms, grasshoppers, etc.

Iv just gotten a baby bearded dragon for xmas :) I dont know how many crickets i should give him a day though and if i should hold him or not. i went to two different pet and reptile shops one said feed as many as he will eat and the other said like 8 a day. he's about 5 inch one guy said pick him up once a day top get him used to me while the other said dont hold him for another five months :o and how do i get him to eat his greens... he's a very bad boy. heehee thanks aj x

By the way, I was at the pet store where I found an adult one and when I said hi to it it just stared at me and when I moved to go somewhere else, he clawed at the cage, I go back, he stops. I bought my baby bearded dragon monday night and its thursday and he only has ate maybe 2 crickets one night and 2 mealworms the other nights. he just doesnt seem interested in food. I know hes new to his cage and hes prob stressing but he has let me hold him since he came home he jumped right on my hand. I mist him with water through out the day. If you're looking for healthy beardies, I'd look into Bloodbankdragons. I got a hypo trans from them a few years back and he's still going hard. Opened up the package to find that they had also sent me a female for free. She's laying eggs but I don't have an incubator so they get tossed.

Hey, I used to own a bearded dragon, well....technically i still do, but she is off at a vets office because she was diagnosed with yellow fungus disease. But i heard from the vet that i have to strip down EVERYTHING and bleach it :( but do you know of any way i can sanitize the wood i have in there and plants, reptile carpet, rocks,and i think that's it. but it is very contagious to other reptiles so if i don't sanitize it, he will get it again! i need a list of things to do ASAP! THANKS

@earthling1984 well, there was no point and wasting $200 dollars on a vet bill, when i can just take him to my local pet store and get him treated for free. The only reason i was able to get him treated for free was because since i don't have any other reptiles, that disease was caused by the pet store and there was a 15 day guarantee on him, so they said once they treat him, they will give him back to me :D btw, its not that i didn't wanna take him 2 a vet its just that, i can afford it.
