There are 3 types of evolution Macro ,Micro and Theolistic. the one you described is Micro Evolution, I have no problem with micro evolution, it's Macro Evolution that Darwin wrote about. I'm Catholic, and believe in evolution because all evidence points toward it, but the creationists believe that the bible is the only source of knowledge, which it frankly isn't. The creationist theory is based on religion, which is banned by the CONSTITUTION to be taught in public schools. Abiogenesis has not yet been observed, but that has no bearing on whether or not it happened a billion years ago on a very different Earth, if that's how life began on this planet. A Theory is not a hunch, guess or conjecture. In science, a Theory is just about as close to fact as you can get. Gravity is indeed a theory, as are the existence of atoms(atomic theory), germs(germ theory), the sun being at the center of the solar system(heliocentric theory, or just heliocentrism).

And no, theories do not have to be directly observed - for example, we can observe the effects of evolution in the fossil record, taxonomy, genetics, etc. Additionally, it matters not what one scientist believed - that doesnt make it right. Not to mention that Albert Einstein did not believe in a personal god and it has no bearing on evolution anyhow

If one cell forms and is viable , you eventually get billions of the same cell. You dont need lots of seperate animals all evolving a basic cell at once , you start with a working cell and go from there. Finish the Darwin eye quote. Next sentance please.
