I saw this when I was 9. a few months later I went with my family to see the commodores live at the Illinois State Fair!!! these experiences were the seed to my love of funk!!!
@FavreianVengeance How are you gonna judge an entire movie based on a short video that consists entirely of very small clips of the film? This isn't even a trailer.
I don't think you're firing on all cylinders. Or maybe you only have a cylinder. I didn't say the movie is/was bad. I'm saying that it is clear that if someone claims this to be their favorite movie then I'm unimpressed. But this has nothing to do with me missing out on anything.
One of the corniest movies of all time. BUT I LOVE IT!!!! I remember going to the theater to see this film when I was 13. I absolutely positively loved me some Dr. J.! Forget MJ been there done that I grew up watching the originator not the imitator.
They should remake this movie..... Jamaal Truth aka Julius Carey III (R.I.P.) this movie was off the chain and it had good clean humor without cussing and violence.
search fish that save pittsburg watch online. it is a couple of links. I watch it on the time. The best one is on zshare. I don't like downloading applications to watch movies on line.
Absolutely NO DEFENSE! It's like the New York Knicks.
WAIT...I got an idea. Let's cut all of the Knicks (except the ones born under the sign of Pisces), get some more Pisces in, and see if we can find Stockard channing and James Bond III. They'll be champions!!! *LOL*
@smoothpants LMAO I got a kick out of your comment. Its 1 year later but hey the Knicks are starting to turn it around. They might secretly have Stockard Channing pulling strings for them even though she couldn't get the refs to make the clock 0.6 sec instead of 0.4 last night.
Wow, Connie Hawkins was in this movie. Then again, when I was 12, Connie Hawkins was already retired.
Jamaal Truth was always my favorite player on the Pittsburgh Team. Who else was rockin' the head gear and giving the Camel gesture after a dunk? Too TIGHT!
I saw this movie on TV it was pretty awsome Gotta love the Doc and no will one will ever compare to the Doc. However when it comes to Defense i will always say that Dan Issel is the greatest
Greatest BASKETBALL movie ever. I have everyone signed from the cast on the movie poster. The HOF asked me for it but I told them once I pass on it's theirs. I treasure it since my grams and I got it signed when I was little. She's gone now. So in time...it's theirs. I'm a Combat Marine who is dying of cancer anyway. I'm 41, and loved this film as a kid. Go see it. I painted my backboard black & gold and had the rim yellow like them. Go Pittsburgh! Go Steelers & Pisces. God Bless Moses Gunthrie.
@havingfun1968 AMEN ! Don't you dare sell that poster. I remember when we got cable and saw this movie for the first time i think in 1982 ? would stop whatever I was doing when this movie was on. I like you am 41 now and would love to own this movie on DVD.
Dammn this was the movie back in the day, we went on a bball trip bout 1981 when we went to sleep it was on & when we woke up it was on lol, Dr j was the man of course and Jamal Truth lol, my all time starting 5 Dj, Majik, Jordan, Bird, Wilt Chamberlin.
I remember the summer that they filmed this movie in Pittsburgh, we were young teenagers going to the Pittsburgh Civic Arena to watch and see Dr. J , Meadowlark Lemon, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and our local Pittsburgh Superstars, Connie Hawkins, Bill Clark, Norm Nixon. Man what a summer I will NEVER forget that summer. Thanks for the memories. And seeing my old neighborhood on film, ( Fifth Ave High School hoop court ) . Mighty, Mighty Pisces!!
Hey Jordan was good, but no one will ever touch the Doc. The class factor alone was beyond words. I'm from Jersey and would go to the RAC to watch them play against the NETS at Rutgers. He was the only player ever, that stayed even if he missed the bus to sign autographs in the middle of February, & it was cold.I have every autograph he ever wrote to me plus the sneakers he gave me. No one, and I mean no one, would ever do that or will ever do that. It was always below 10 degrees. God Bless him.
@smizzman Ditto DJ during the early 70's to 80' s was what MJ was to the 90's. He was that type of icon, hair style trade mark like Jordan's bald head was and his Converse Dr Js was just as popular as the Air Jordan shoes.
This movie was #1 the weekend I was born.
