  • Indémodable, et toujours efficace 30 ans après.

  • @gisrez oui, d'accord

AARÓN!!!! ... "REMEMBER THIS??? .. IT'S OUR SONG BRO!!!! . THINKING ABOUT YOU WITH THE KORGIS AND LOVING YOU FOREVER!!! :'( :'( :'( :'( ....

  • tears, always tears and shivers up my spine

  • so nostalgic

  • 3:05-4:08 Euphoric! :-)

  • Tune Tune Tune!!! > DJ(UNITE)MC - UK.

  • Great song, beautifully sung, great band - perfection really.

  • moves me and makes me feel nostalgic and sad for times gone by

  • could`nt have said it better myself prisonevri

  • @germany1990 Well, you could have said it better..... You could have said "fades into INsignificance" rather than 'fades into significance', it would have made sense at least.

  • @Garmez120 mind your own business

  • direct to the tunel of time

  • "Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime" (1980 hit for The Korgis) has adaptations: The Russian poem "The Leaves have Flown from Poplars" (Улетели листья с тополей) written by Nikolay Rubtsov has been adapted into several different songs. One of these versions, attributed to Alexander Morozov, has a similar instrumentation to Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime. This version has been recorded by singers including the Russian band Forum, Sofia Rotaru, and Vitas. But take a look!

  • What year was this re-release version?

  • @Toyotacamry1993 i,m sure its 1990?

  • @30078597 Cheers. Im just wondered because i want this on Vinyl and i dont want to get the 1980 version by mistake. :)

  • @Toyotacamry1993 it was first releasd in bout 1979/80

  • @cloverdalewhite cheers :)

  • Música linda, me faz flutuar ao ouvi-lá!!!

  • Was it a KOTO sound?? I thought that was a sitar. So good song anyway....

  • Stackridge for Ever!

  • UN CLÁSICO.MARAVILLOSA

  • korgis very good

  • Canzone stupenda, molto dolce mì ricorda la mia giovinezza negli anni 80 e tanti altri ricordi.

  • It takes courage to write a song and let the end of that song have a 60 second instrumental ending

  • As long as we keep listening to the mainstream media...

    "we"

    are never going to learn.

  • Oh, yes! I found it, finally. The first time I heard this song for few seconds and I get addicted instantaneously, a very intense atmosphere, what lack of music today.

  • I wonder if he new when he was writing this song he was writing a classic

  • Fantastic song, rubbish look. Great on the radio.

  • yeah! made me really srop!

  • Awesome bass !

  • this song sounds ahead of its time, much later than 1980

    great song, first time hearing

  • What year did this newer version come out?. I know its not the original 1980 song.

  • @Toyotacamry1993 dont know but i could tell its a re-recording too. prefer the original!

  • I thought this video looked a little too modern for 1980. Must be the 1990 re-do.

  • all the other covers are nothing compared to this original version

  • This song came up in late 70's say 79 or 80? i love this song. So are these guys together? or if so or not what is the electic guitarist doing now? and the drummer. Heck back then i was 20 i would of dated any of them.

  • krásná vypalovačka!!

  • I remember the 1990s dance cover by Baby D with the rap section in the middle. That version doesn't have the beauty or emotion of the original. Too many classics suffered dodgy dance cover versions in the 90s.

  • Another time, another world. A much better world than today's

  • Rickenbacker basses are sooo beautiful!

  • This isnt the version I remember. WTF?

  • rw

  • After having had the Erasure cover for quite a while, this version sounds utterly foreign, which is one of the signs of a good cover :)

  • the trouble is some of us never learn.......... when i did it was too late!

so many ships , sailing away.

  • Such a simple song but those few words mean so much. Together with beautiful orchestration and a wonderfully moving melody, and sung with real heart and emotion by the lead singer, it draws the listener into its powerful theme and makes one really srop and think about what is really important in life. A classic song and one of my all time favourites. Music today fades into significance when compared to timeless classics like this.

  • @prisonervi I like how you described that music. You said it just right. I also love this song. Have been looking for it for years. thanks to You tubers who put it out there.

  • @prisonervi .my thoughts exactely,well written

  • Magique cette chanson!

  • You can relate to this tune at any important time of your life, from losing a parents to a bird you have known for two days. They are all experiences we will come across and need to deal with

  • @butterwortha1 Or A Sock thats Been Missing For Weeks.....☺☺☺

  • This song sounds even better with headphones on. The bass is amazing! :D

  • @Toyotacamry1993 or through speakers that dont suck balls.

the day a pair of headphones give better bass response than my speakers ill eat my own fist.

  • @technicalerr0r haha ok :)

  • i love this song have since the first time i heard it . ps it kinda haunts me i love it that much lol

  • I never learn actually

  • @SteveBZ69 Thats ok We still love You.

  • le jour ou j'ai laisser partir la femme de ma vie

  • Génial . Merci.

Haunting melody; subtle words : a song which speaks to your soul.

  • 1979...edge of a decade...here come the 80s....

  • I prefer this Re-Recording version.

  • WOW!!...Not heard this in yrs what a song

  • Морозов - кАзел, гнусно украл песню для своего Форума

  • who can press the dislike button after this relaxation???:P.....

  • Kudos to Nicola Roberts for doing a great cover of this beautiful song & making me seek out the original. It's a beautiful piece.

  • cette super chanson me rapelle le jours ou j'ai fait la pire erreur de ma vie

  • My first crush, crushed me

  • Comment removed

  • Just awesome.

  • Just awesome.

  • One of the best sad pieces ever made by humans...

  • Nicola's version is better!

  • Not being a dick, just recommending something else : The Field did an incredible work with that one... by far the best version imho, he just worked on the timbre, and came up with something way more interesting than the original!

  • I had a keyboard like that back then. I loved the sound it put out. You just can't get the 80's sound on modern equipment.

  • i knew this music but i completely forgot, but now Nicola Roberts brings me here! :D

  • evocative work.

  • When was this video made, because I know it's not the first version

  • @TheTooz72 I think this is the version they re recorded in 1990 for charity

  • @TheTooz72 I think this is the version they re recorded in 1990 for charity

  • An anthem for broken hearts the world over.....

  • this is better the what people call music nowdays :) and what the heck @vania its not a bad song if you want to here a bad song turn into modern music -_-"

  • anyone who crys to this heap of dung deserve to be hit with bad luck

  • @vania1013 YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE BEEN HEH HEH.

  • Definately the best version of this song :) loved this song still do :) thanx for sharing

  • The Beck version is crap. The only thing I can thank him for is pointing me to the brilliant version.

  • @bluzme its always real, just different... time changes your recollections, enhances the good, reduces the not so good.... remember the fun not the pain.

  • who could write this today.such a wonderful deep emotional record.its lyrics affect everyone.few lyrics but its what everyone feels

  • Obra de arte.

  • fabulous

  • this is the only version ive found that hasnt been shortened at the end

  • NO HABIA ESCUCHADO ESTA CANCION EN MI VIDA,PERO GRACIAS A UN AMIGO QUE SIEMPRE LA ESTABA TARAREANDO,DESCUBRI LA CANCION MAS HERMOSA DE LA HITORIA DE LA MUSICA.

  • best song ever..

  • this reminds me of my latest love not of my first, love at a young age isn't as real as it is at a later, more mature, age

  • incredible symphonic sound. love the keyboards. f**k this americana, delta blues music that every no-talent must crap out these days in order to be promoted.

  • While I prefer the Beck version you can see why he covered it,it really is a beautifully complex song.

  • Great song. Beck's version of it from Eternal Sunshine was also brilliant

  • simply beautiful

  • Always reminds me of my first love...never forgotten....

  • @dreamalie Me too, its like May 1980 was just a few months ago when it came out. Our first loves live with us forever. The memory of mine has haunted me ever since that year. A year of beautiful music!!!

  • superbe chanson!!!!sera toujours dans mon coeur!!!♥♥

  • Everybody's got to learn and listen good songs sometime!!! :-)

  • so pure !

  • le N°2 des slow Crapuleux

  • Is Lovely

  • Обожаю эту вещь. Просто классно. Super!!!

    from Russia

  • @MegaSerg09 Eta pravda!

  • @7amdank

There's a "v" at the beginning of "voilà", which is pronounced "Vwalah" (not "walah").

  • It's good!

  • I heard this song last night on BBC Radio 2 last night online. It's beautiful!

  • Amazing.

  • GREAT SONG LOTS OF PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN THIS LESSON!!!!!

  • mad respect to Korgis, for creating the original song.

  • Lovely. This was on ABC Dig this morning.

  • When this came out it was right around the time John Lennon was shot, but before I bought Double Fantasy. I thought this was Lennon for quite some while.

  • A remixed dubstep version of this is the new theme song for SLiDE on FOX8 :D - It's found a new life!

  • @amolina1234 All Beck did was combine his name and some contrived vocals to a great piece of music by the Korgis. All he and his producer had to do was repeat the essense of the Korgis and walah... he has a hit record. Beck is poaching a great piece of music from a forgotten band.... let him re-record Helter Skelter and then tell me how he stacks up against Paul McCartney and the Beatles.

  • A very good song! A beautiful ballad! Not a lot of lyrics but orchestral arrangements made with love of music. Such artists doesn't exist anymore.

  • How can anyone prefer Beck's version when this is the original. Dat's just so fookin' stoopid.

  • @Planetoxo its called preference.

  • @Planetoxo because music taste is subjective.

  • No hard feelings, but I prefer the Beck's version.

  • J'adore cette chanson:)

  • Dreamy song :)

  • This song is gorgeous. Such emotion.

  • <3

  • @FabbersDubstepDNB would u be able 2 track a number down for me there will be money involved

  • im a man and i cry to this as my first love has dumped me again after 30 years apart superb song though

  • A timeless classic.

I'll always keep it in my heart ^^.

  • I made a couple of typos inmy post/ obe should be one and "had to get the page" should be "had to get off the page"

  • I just got done listening to various covers of this song. While most sucked, the obe by Queen + Zucchero is not bad. I alsoheard a dnceversion of this song. TRUST ME! You don't want to hear it. I could only stomach 45 seconds before I had to get the page

  • What a timeless song.

  • Great song, but what's with the hat? Promoting trekkin' in the states?

  • also the guy looks like Larry David of Curb Your Enthusiasm

  • nice song but the camera work looks like it was done by a drunken toddler

  • @stochasticmonk ROFLMAO!

  • It's a great song, but i'd rather the Beck's version.

  • Are some of the guys not from Stackridge ??

  • What a HAUNTING, ROMANTIC, TIMELESS SONG ! It speaks to the soul and the heart of every man.

Thank you British friends for giving the World such talented musical Artists.

    Best regards from France.

  • This is an all time classic

  • I believe they were a hybrid band of English and Swedes musicians. It was big in the UK back in 1979 and 1980 Good tune then and now. No Beck didn't write it.

  • @getula4003 I was station in England at the time. It was 1980

  • I always thought this was written by Beck. Love his version, but this is great!

  • Isnt it time from The Babies is in the same timezone. It was an great episode between tthe time of Pink Floyd and Superramp and teh coming out of the punk and New wave. New bands excisted like U2 Simple Minds The Cure etc etc.The nusic flows deep in my blood for the rest of my life.

  • love it

  • This is a great song and great music along with one of my favorites. The Babys. Kinda sounds like 1 of their songs . Thanks Bill
