Ill have to respectfully disagree. Watch the original U2 video on YouTube. Theres a close-up shot of the intro riff. Only 2 strings are vibrating. Its very clear. Curiously, I have 2 official U2 books from Hal Leonard publishing. One tabs it out on 2 strings, the other using 3. Even experts disagree. I still come back to the old vintage music video on YouTube. Very clear on that closeup 2 strings. Ralqhs version just sounds more accurate when played side by side with the original audio.

My bad. U are correct - open E on main riff. He plays it that way as far as I can tell. Controversy between people about whether G string is involved in main riff. One book says yes, the other says no. It's definitely only played on B & E (open E included) on the original U2 video. Ask him - I think he'll agree that he plays an open E on this video.

Hi, I'm thinking of biting the bullet and getting the Axe-FX. How easy is it to create the patches, particularly for copying Edge sounds? There are a few patches created on axechange but not many. I think they should have one of their tech guys sit down with some U2 cd's and create a few more...
