  • Senator John McCain is a great guy.

  • omg, I can't believe these people who keep spouting off about how "clean" nuclear power is. How dumb do they think we are? How do they think uranium is brought out of the earth? Do they really think that radioactive elements will not harm anyone/anything, once brought up to the surface?

  • Umm a lot of those radioactive elements can be found in the soil that we walk on and a no they don't hurt anyone because we safely store the fuel on site.

  • Did you know that it takes 660 tons of uranium bearing rock to make 1 ton of uranium oxide/yellow cake. To fuel a nuclear power station for one year, it will take 200 tons of uranium, leaving behind 130,000 tons of waste rock, which is what makes up the tailings ponds. It takes a lot of water to process uranium: 33,000 tons of it per day (Australia's Olympic Dam - Uranium mine).

  • Did you know that 3g of Uranium gives more power than a 1 ton of coal. Did also know that nuclear power plants replace about a third of their fuel in use. Also I like to point out that a lot of the DU and spent fuel can be reused with the right reactors. One more thing all that water returns to environment so what really wasted some energy that's all.

  • Its ashame we here in AUSTRALIA dont take John McCain advice on nuclear power, In stead of going on with coalfired power stations.

  • frikkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet goosh bagy

  • NASA says the Martian South Poles ice cap has been shrinking for three summers in a row. Maybe Mars got its fever from earth. If so, I guess Jupiters caught the same cold, because its warming up too, like Pluto.I wonder what all those planets, dwarf planets and moons in our SOLAR system have in common. Hmmmm. SOLAR system. Hmmmm. Solar? I wonder. Nah, I guess we shouldnt even be talking about this. The science is absolutely decided. Theres a consensus.

  • McCain's Oratory Skills Suck

    MOSS

  • haham Mccain be good one day president, if heart attack no happen.......seriously though, he's not that bad....just a bit slow.....

  • nothing wrong with being old

  • the price of corn will go up then

  • Nuclear fission kills big time! But a waterfall or breaking waves do molecular nuclear fusion: Safge power, with no CO2 or toxic death! Nuclear power is SO dangerous! They invented the phantom science of globla warming. See my blgo on how to do MNF.

  • Nuclear power made up 'global warming', from a headline in News Week. Whne ti wasn't treuw they called it 'climate change'. Which is weather, but they want to build more plants of death. Over our dcead body, and it probably will be!

  • I am sorry that comment was a little incoherent, but it sounded like you were saying that global warming is a myth and that climate change in not an ineluctable reality! Can anyone be so willfully blind as to be able to ignore these realities? We have to do something reverse the damage that we have done to our planet over the centuries, by shifting to greener more environment friendly technology in transport, production, and all our other day to day activities

  • At least JonThm has some backup and truth, All you do is use fear to prove global warmin is real.

  • Thank you NiraliSherni.

  • The average temp has gone down over the last ten year in a row. Global warming is indicated by the temp going up I would suspect.

But perhaps I am just believeing my lying eyes instead of what I am told to believe.

  • RON PAUL 08 BABY

  • David Pimentel, a professor of ecology at Cornell and Tad Patzek, an engineering professor at Berkeley, wrote a paper that estimates that making ethanol from corn requires like, 30 percent more fossil fuel energy than the ethanol contains once it's completed - even considering all of the factors that the earlier study which tried to support ethanol and contradict such findings contained.

  • BOLOGNA! SPECULATORS DON'T DRIVE THE PRICES UP! THEY KEEP IT DOWN! THAT IS JUST A BLATANT FALSEHOOD.

Without speculators at the oil markets - youd be paying $50.00 per gallon. Thank the next oil speculator you see. It's SIMPLE economics. More people involved in the barter for position of what is considered fair value for any given commodity - the more fair the price is.

This is why we're paying $3.00 for gasoline, but other countries have to pay $15.00 a gallon.

  • As a matter of fact, the guy that traded UP on Oil to the $100 mark, - TOOK A LOSS! HE LOST OUT FINANCIALLY to try to drive it up. It's simple economics.

I'm thankful for Oil speculators who have kept me from paying $10 to $15 like other countries have to pay.

  • Others countries pay higher prices for gasoline because of taxes, as the governments need the revenue. It has very little to do with "oil speculators."

  • 1000 and 1!

  • I am sorry i just cannot commit myself to voting for someone who supports the war although it was began through a lie and through unintelligent false "intelligence". He supports the war to last for 100 years. that would be impossible given the fact we cantafford it. our economy will collapse it is inevitable while we have the war. i just cannot support someone who is for premptive war. it is unamerican, and unjust. iran is no threat. and his amnesty bill is HORRENDOU. stop letting soldiers die!!

  • TopSideUp, he doesn't support the war to last for 100 years. That 100 year comment is taken out of context.

  • For yyhenry: Thank you for this info. That makes sense. The hate propaganda against John McCain takes things out of context and pastes it onto other statements.

  • "That 100 year comment is taken out of context"

It's called a Hyperbole. It's used as a literary device to emphasize a point. That point being: McCain is gonna want to stay in this war for a long time.

  • For chocopug: John McCain is very honest in what he says he is planning for the future. Hillary was, too. Politicians who really care about things and are saying what they will do or not do, are often slandered. But the ones who say nothing are protected. McCain cares about the environment and has a strong record of opposing drilling in Alaska and ANWR. Obama stated that he supports drilling on land instead of in the ocean, that means Alaska and ANWR. How can anyone support that? I don't.

  • I respect your opinion, however his campaign runs on nothing more than mudslinging Obama. His more recent attempt concerned Obama's plan to increase the efficiency of gas in one's car (through proper tire pressure). If McCain truly cared about the environment, he wouldn't be smearing at all. This is saying that his will to win the presidency is above protecting the environment.

  • Hello Chocopug, I agree with you that he should never ever use anger and accusations against another candidate. I believe that he knows exactly what is happening with the Obama propaganda. That makes him bitter. I also suspect that John McCain has the wrong campaign managers, they actually advertise for Obama.

  • Haha, well said

  • :0)

  • What was Obama's plan to increase car efficiency through proper tire pressure? To advertise how keep your tires at the correct tire pressure or something?

  • Yeah

  • Well, I'd laugh at that to. I mean, good on him for coming up with an idea but seriously - how much will that alter the fuel efficiency? If you're going to promote anything to do with driving habits it should be teaching people about accelerating slowly, which gear to be in etc. Those have a far greater affect on consumption. I mean I'm Australian, but if our Prime Minister's attempt on winning over the environmental debate was 'keeping tires properly inflated' I'd laugh...

  • you can say the same thing about Bush...he seemed ok but was just a little bit slow

  • Ron Paul 2008 or you can kiss America as we know it goodbye. Brace yourselves, big government, forced socialized health care, higher taxes, longer wars that drain our economy are just a few things in our near future.

  • Near future? Dude, that's been with us for decades. Ron Paul has lost. Just refuses to admit it.

  • I don't want McCain to be president, because although smart and well spoken, he's just another conservative, pro-life death-sentence touting mongoloid. But if I had to bet on it, I'd say he'll win.

  • of course he won't mention these positions while he's running for the republican nomination. as if immigration wasn't enough, there also is this issue where he completely disagrees with conservative republicans. despite attacks by romney (about alaska oil drilling and what have you) he managed to pull it off and it remains to be seen, if he gets ellected, whether he will stick with his principles or cave in under pressure from extremist conservatives, which will definitely be big.

  • nuclear energy is clean

  • He doesn't just 'reach' across the aisle on issues like the environment....he JUMPS across the aisle and has stayed there on this and many other issues. He is, has been, and will be aligned with the democratic party.

  • I haven't heard these positions of his before.

  • That's why we thought it was important to post this video.

  • Thank you.
