The only singer I can think of off the top of my head from when she was becoming popular that was/is honestly gay is Melissa Etheridge. Maybe you're thinking of her? I like her records that have followed, JLP is still the biggest debut album in the world, Alanis has sold 40 million records, she's still young at 36, She ran the New York marathon in 2009, if I miss "the days of Jagged Little Pill" ....I simply spark one up, put it on, and crank up the volume!

I LOVE this song, but I prefer the version in this clip with only the piano. If you don't know what I mean, go to any of the other clips and listen to the chorus.
