  • so more or less my question is if you get weapons and armor from trading in tokens from dungeons and you still have loot drops on all enemys im assuming and all bosses...how is that not grinding in a sense im just a bit confused on what you guys are saying that "you wont have to grind for gear and stuff" but why? would you not?

  • im confused then you dont have to grind for gear but when you do a dungeon you get tokens to turn in for a weapon and armor piece or something like that...and also there is still loot drops of of enemys you kill so if 5 people kill a boss he will drop loot and for all 5 players the boss or enemy will drop random loot for all 5. so everyone gets their own loot from the enemy killed so none can be stolen etc. so more or less my question is with what i said..what are you guys talking about??

  • "whats everyone up to up in here" is the first sentence i think

  • btw anyone who could explain to me why this game wont be oo easy? you wont have to grind for anything if u hear these guys, so will u have gear from the start? not even dynamic events will be intresting enough to keep people playing

  • Arena or some other ranking system is the way to keep people playing. Because when you have everything, theres nothing left to do - unless you can rise on a ladder that people can see your position on. You want to be better then other people at the game and therefor you will play alot to climb those ratings. Wow did a gr8 job, unfortunatly they let go of the spirit of wow along the way but i hope gw2 will make a better job.

  • Well in WoW, the fun only starts at max level, which means... grind your whole life until max level, then play, GW2 has changed... it will be fun the whole way through you can have fun from lvl 1... So obviously when you reach max level it will still be fun, plus making an alt won't be so lame either because you can play a completely different story...

  • I would have to respectively disagree. I think the majority of WoW is grinding specifically for GEAR. Wether it be PVE or PVP, Dungeons or Raids. That is pretty much the whole point to WoW is reaching max level and getting the best gear. So ya, I don't agree.

  • The won't have a problem keeping players after hitting max level and whatnot. I've been playing the first GW since 3 months from release. Although I don't go for armor or titles anymore I still play because it's fun.

  • Surely just finding someone won't be enough. Won't they have to be good to?

  • I CAN SERIOUSLY NOT WAIT ANY LONGER. ITS KILLING ME >:O /endcaps

    i like catfish

  • What is the first sentence? Kinda important to have a clear opening statement. Atm it is impossible to hear. Other than that... great vids! Keep it up!

  • I agree with everything you guys said. Honestly I only pvp'ed in wow and it seems that they are caring more about pvp in gw2 than pve in my opinion which is really cool. Im so glad that their is no holy trinity either. I cant wait to play out the story of my character ( a necromancer :) ) and watch him progress and make cool choices in a constantly changing and dynamic world. I just hope it wont fail like rift did but after everything Ive seen I think gw2 is going to take over my life.

  • lol call of duty, made me laugh

  • What the fuck was the first sentence in this video?

  • @NamvZ LOL Idk.

  • i think the WvWvW pvp will replace raids cause there will be no limit to the amount of players you can take along with you (you could even take your whole guild).

  • Norn Mesmer + Sylvari Warrior + Human Enginner = fun for me!

  • comparing an MMO to a FPS? please stfu!.

  • like and ummm like and like , but like. like!

  • thank you for the video TubeElephant. There is a little discussion going on on gw2guru about one thing you mentioned: that outside events have an effect on the dungeons. Do you have any source on this, as far as I know there are random events happening in the dungeons but I haven't heard anything about that yet. Would be nice of you if you could help me (us) out here.

  • fucking casuals gtfo youtube

  • skyrim consumed my brain....and it will continue to do so, until this piece of art appears

  • Great commentary. Can't wait to play this.

  • Haha, at 4:40 i thought it was my skype ^^

  • For those of us that see through the smoke and mirrors of gear tiers, the system of max stats into new skins is a godsend in the MMORPG scene. If you don't like it that's fine, plenty of us do, enough of us to keep Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 thriving. Period.

  • I will miss raids and some people may tell me to go play WoW or some such but although I loved raiding, at the same time I hated the schedule.... A 10man later on in an expansion would be cool but the lack of the raids won't detract me as a player. The only thing that concerns me is that PvP seems to be end game focus and limited PvE. Still Guild wars 2 will be awesome..

P.S Did anyone else check their skype at 4:36? xD

  • Lucky for me im not a hard core gamer. Once i reach max level ill just restart on an other character (if i feel like it). Though i know for sure im ganna be on the world pvp, since my favorite game was fantasy earth zero and that game was all about 50 v. 50 pvp battles. To bad it shut down so i cant play it. GW2 though, will have much more people in a bigger area so it will make it more intence.

  • air elementalist is a must for me, I always thinks that lighting whip looks cool

  • the dungeons have there own unique looking gear..wont make you play better but it make you have the wow he looks cool factor

  • wow finally some people who actually discuss some valid points! great videop from start to end! big thumbs :)

  • great discussion tube...keep it up

  • whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaats up everyone

  • You're a clicker? :(

  • So whats the point of doing dungeon if your not gonna get those epic loots? or raid, we need raids on GW2 to get awsome items....

  • So how fast can someone "max out" their toon in gear? I know it's 120 to 160 hours to get to lvl 80 if you did nothing but level. After that, I'll want to max out my stats.

  • Comment removed

  • 4:54 what are you REALLY up to?

  • what happen is that people have got to accustomed in always having an above to strive for, which btw devs provide with very little effort (dungeon gear farming usually consists of a new skin and upped stats on armor) and this is not really end-game because u can't consider urself top if there are so many gear pieces out there stronger. In this GW2 goes about it similar and yet different where everything can be considered as content playable and end-game. Also for the guilds there is always WvWvW

  • whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaats up everyone, TubeElephant here.

  • fuck me.. every time I see this game I can just feel the awsomeness

  • @Mystrym Yes sir!! =P

  • 6:00 love what you guys are saying about how when you log back into a game after a break from it suddenly you don't have the gear you need to run with your friends because EXACTLY THAT just happened to me. i left WoW seven months ago and returned only to find that they would have to carry me to get me better stuff then the heroic blues that were available at the time so i could raid with them in the firelands (the most recent content). WOW great point!

  • the 10 million people who play wow don't all raid the only reason i went back was the changes in 4.3 and the only reason why i raid is there isn't enough stuff for me to do casually in the rest of the world in WoW. I cannot wait for this game. I can only hope when the time comes for release i will have enough to get this game because the standard model for mmos (which SWTOR is using) is old and dead and it's time for all new activities.

  • the problem you people are looking at is that GW2 is going a different way from other mmos. They don't want you to play the game and say this is just like every other mmo. GW2 will be succeful because of that, the fact that people are playing something new, and doing something new.

  • Y they no release?!??!? ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

  • @Bastarden Still in Alpha that's why! =D

  • Subscribed to you all! It would be really cool to have some sort of Hardcore guild factor, I was Hardcore, and yet I did not! enjoy grinding, I still loved that community that our guild had been top on the server, I think guild wars 2 will have to be a wait and see!!! I really can't wait for this, Obsessed already ;)

  • @Mintie1990 Nice! yeah this game is bossesque dude just you wait who needs end game anyways it will redefine end game!

  • All this stuff that is changing, in my opinion is great. GuildWars1 was great, but got boring. This change is going to be amazing, going to make a brand new, original game that is different in so many ways! Personally i am buzzing to play it, but so upset there isn't even a release date!

  • Atleast you managed to record your own voice lol!!

  • what are those dynamic events exactly?

  • @mb6400 They are things that create content in the Game World, either activated by players or by random chance. You don't need to talk to anyone to be able to participate. You just SEE what is happening and choose to help/interact or not.

The main example is always the invading armies taking over a town, but it can also be smthg.small like helping out a farmer up to massive things like defending an area from a dragon onslaught.

The fact that it's dynamic creates a more alive-feeling world

  • i like the whole idea of Dynamic events , i still need Raids its a must for end game in my opionion.

  • @ozzzigeee There will be no raids, there are however extremely difficult 5 man dungeons. As for the big epic stuff? You get to do that all the time in the game. Why have it only be saved for end game?

  • Honestly I don't know how I feel about not having 'end game content' that feels more epic than what i've done prior. I PERSONALLY loved progression raiding, so it will be interesting to see what actually keeps my interest at level cap.

  • @Shablo5 I think what most people forget, is, with the Sidekick system you can still enjoy every part of the game even after hitting level cap.

As a Charr you maybe never saw the Asuran starter Area, but you can still go there, be kicked down to lvl 5 and have fun there. Also with the ever changing dungeons and the World PvP there will be a lot to do.

Because in the end 8 dungeons with multiple paths and a giant world are more endgame content that you'll ever get through a handful raid-dungeons

  • @Zeppelinschaffner22 Yes, I understand dungeons are affected by world events, as are zone quests, but you can't expect the replayability to be amazingly high. What I mean is this. Sure Dungeon A will be modified into A1-5 if X happens, but it's still dungeon A. "Oh cool I never seen that happen before" is only uttered so many times. Same goes with the unique starting zones. I doubt this will be enough for me. It's like a dynamic single player campaign. I will buy the game, don't get me wrong.

  • @Shablo5 but if you go on raids, how many different raids can you experience?

What I'm saying is, even without calling the dungeons raids, they kind of are, aren't they?

Of course if you play A LOT eventually you will coem to a point where you've seen everything, but how long will it take you? and how long did it take you f.i. in WoW to experience all the content at least once`?

(Thats a real question btw, i tested WoW and hated it, so I have no Idea what endgame is like first hand)

  • @Zeppelinschaffner22 The endgame was where the game was, and they'd release raiding tiers once every 6 months or so, and after 4 months, everyone has cleared it at least once. This isn't one raid btw, raid tiers usually consisted of 2-3 raids. Anywho, you did these between 2 and 4 times a week depending on your guild and it really fostered camaraderie when you'd all show up at the same time to have at what you couldn't do last week.

And because they were week lockouts, they stretched it out.

  • @Zeppelinschaffner22 (I couldnt really fit this all into one post) so you'd have to do it the next week again, usually faster as you knew what you were doing, then fight the bosses you couldn't down last week. It was very much a group effort of anywhere between 10 and 25 people that you'd see every single week. Fun stuff imo. I just don't feel like 'exploring' or redoing 'old content i did at level 10' is really what I consider fun. That is personal opinion though. Even if it is tweaked slightly

  • @Shablo5 Well the idea behind raids is that it is challenging, and 1 every 6 months is much slower than what ANet has said they were aiming for with realeasing new content.

SO let's hope for the best.

I think this "week long" trial and error you described is better spend playing open world content, since you don't need to cue in for 25 man big teams to even go and play this type of content

  • @Shablo5 I enjoy that the game doesn't pull a bait and switch on you in terms of what you do while leveling, and what you do at end-game.

  • Fantastic Video :) You got a Like

  • dungeon crawling is so archaic...why the fuck should i need 50 other ppl to progress my character?

  • @syntaxed2 stick to single-player games..

  • Guild Wars 2 will be awesome! I can't wait!

  • @TubeElephant never gonna come out

  • Guild wars 2 really wants to change the way we think about MMOs

  • I don't know about you guys but when I reach max level and (hopefully) have best gear, I'll probably be primarily be doing the World vs World vs World . It's basically raiding real people lol ^_^. Also I think there's like 3 max level dungeons (and with 3 separate paths each and the story mode) thats like 12 dungeons right there xD.

Tube I love how almost every one of my GW2 subscriptions you've done videos with =). Keep it up =) Love these vids

  • @AirickGuitar3917 Yeah WvW is going to be amazing! =P I honestly believe that will be enough to keep playing also the level scaling will make it possible to do old dungeons again! It's going to rock :)

  • @Psychopoweranger I know. I have a funny feeling I'm going to like fall in love with a lower level dungeon and keep doing that one, just because HAHA. And bc of the side kick system I won't be overpowered and it'll be just as fun the first time as the second time and so on ^_^.

  • @AirickGuitar3917 Exactly! add in the fact that dungeons will be effected by dynamic events and your own choices there are many different replay values :) just saying!

  • im not happy about this...I need rewards for my time spent in-game...preferably something that will give me an advantage over people who dont play as much.

  • @Tohdette Frankly - I LIKE that all you materialistic grind-fest lovers hate GW2, because that means, you won't buy, which in return will make the community so much more enjoyable with less elitist pricks in it. - there are people who actually want to PLAY a game and not get frustrated over how the lowlifes with no job are so much better than them, simply because they don't need to go to work or school 8 hours a day.

  • @Zeppelinschaffner22 hmm you need to calm down...and i never said i hate GW2...ill probably buy it before you do. I was just expressing my opinion. You dont have to get all fan boyish on me, just agree to disagree and respect my opionion...

  • @Tohdette Well what you were saying is "time invested = characters overall power". Not only is this a major factor that drives many people away from games like MMO's, it also is just unfair.

So with all due respect, I think your opinion has quite a flaw.

It's not like you won't get rewarded for achieving things, but it won't make you more powerfu

Giving away more powerful stuff will just single out "casuals" that can't play with anyone bcoz their equipment sucks. Thus splitting the community

  • @Tohdette You will (hopefully) have one crucial advantage: skill. Stop crying and go back to WoW.

  • @TheSwagSociety lol i wanted to reply to you but I clicked thumbs up by accident. If your so confident GW2 is going to be a gr8 game, why do you feel like you have to go on the defensive every time someone criticizes the game? If arenanet were here with us, im sure they would value my input rather then insult me and yell at me till I leave like you trolls...

  • @Tohdette Whaa? Did you read my comment at all? Or is your reading comprehension really that bad? If you re-read my comment, Im sure you'll understand that what I meant was that baddies will get slaughtered, players who play a lot will have the skill advantage (not to mention knowledge) You are obviously afraid of facing someone with equivelant gear as you, which is why you probably play WoW. Stop crying and learn the game, not the gear.

  • @TheSwagSociety haha why am i not surprised by your reply...wow haters. Just because you couldnt do shit in WoW doesnt mean anyone that plays it is shit. You know what? im not gonna go down to your level and start cursing and telling you to go cry because I disagree with you. I love what GW2 is about and I have EVERY RIGHT TO CRITICIZE IT whenever I feel i need to. I dont care what you youtube trolls/fan boys tell me.

  • @Tohdette BGs are easy, I never cared to grind gear for RBGs. Tell me, when did I curse at you?

  • @TheSwagSociety You insulted me calling me illiterate and a coward because I complained about an aspect of a game that isnt even out yet. When the game is out and it turns out to be amazing and someone says its not, I'll stand by your side any day on these discussions. But dont hate on me and rage when you see me or other youtubers disagree with a few points about something that hasnt even been implemented. I'm cynical because all of the MMO's that came after WoW were BS for me. GW2 save me.

  • @Tohdette The advantage to playing more in Guild Wars is like the same as playing more in Soul Caliber or Street Fighter, you understand the game more and the skills and characters, also you'll have more skill in fighting and you'll be able to walk over non experienced players more. If you only want gear as reward for playing more than GW2 probably isn't the game to go for. Star Wars Old Republic is coming out soon and that's not too different than WoW in that aspect =). (also its star wars xD)

  • @AirickGuitar3917 dont get me wrong im looking forward to guild wars 2 as much as the next person. Im just critical about this point because of how out of bounds it is with the traditional MMO. It's extremely foreign and sometimes that scares players away. I'll be playing the game definitely, but im also allowed to criticize it when I feel I have to :P

  • @Tohdette never good just to praise something all the time right =) have a fault, point it out, they fix it xD. Though I've only ever played City of Heros and Guild Wars 1 for MMO's so I don't really have experience with like this gear talk lol. I just hope people who are skeptic will try GW2 =) I think they'll like it even if its not what they're used to.

  • does any1 know when they gonna say which is 8th profession?

  • @Kalifond We all know its gonna be a mesmer

  • In other MMOs you go and redo many times some dungeons you already did for new and better equipments that will quickly become obsolete and replaced by others... Do you think it is better ? I personnally think it is really worse.

In GW2 you can redo whatever you want, and for HL content you still have same kind of things adapted to your level. Greater, more epic and harder.

Gear = endgame ? What a sooooo boring and close-minded vision of games... challenge and epicness ≠ gear chasing

  • @Ojyh Yeah I totally agree with you! I don't like the endgame is just a grind and not something you fully enjoy! =P

  • @Psychopoweranger Yep :)

What is important and great about GW2 is that the game is fun enough to do things you just like, not because you have to do it.

I think nobody likes raids and dungeons you have to do again and again. They only do it for better gear. So without that stupid reward they think the game will be empty, because they have no more stupid motivation. Actually the motivation in GW2 is just somewhere else, and in really cool and better "somewhere" I think :)

  • For me once I'm highest level I'll be roaming the beautiful world and shaping it through dynamic events because they'll adapt to my level and still be a challenge. Then pvp world I'll bring glory to my server by taking castles, seizing mines for resources, and conquering guilds :D so excited

  • @Pareod375 I agree with you! Playing with friends, exploring every inch the world, and helping other players defeat dynamic events. So much to do other then grind for gear, its time for something fresh.

  • @Pareod375 This right here is the exact reasoning! Well said my friend well said! *clap clap clap*

  • Guild Wars 1 Had no PvE endgame -.- Arena Net should come to thier senses.

  • Why are there soooo many "Gear Minded" people out there. Has wow/other mmos seriously brain washed you that much that you cant even comprehend not griding to min max your character?

  • @FuelTR Dude I hate gear grinding! I just want to PvP ;)

  • hmm so basicly the guildwars 2 end game will be the same as the guild wars 1 end game. Like in guildwars 1 there was no difference in stats but in difference in looks and what most people basicly did was either grinding money for sets, doing eye of the north dungeon stuff, helping with mission or just PvP ( which is awesome in GW 1 and also seems really fun in GW 2). But i didn't like the PvE end game in gw 1 to be honest at some point it gets rly boring I hope it wont be like that in GW 2

  • why take CoD for and example and not WoW o.O

  • As long as they have something like the fissure of woe armor i'll be happy. And yes i would like a raid or a dungeon that requires a bunch of people to do with some neat gear at the end.

  • I dont play MMO's for the equipment... i play MMO's to increase my skill to pwn people .P

  • @Misterfoxione u don't like to have Badass gear? D:

  • @Misterfoxione That's where it is at my friend! :)

  • Will Guild Wars 2 have the same gear system as in Guild Wars 1 ? Are you fucking kidding me -.-

  • @Gf0rcE96 Why would you ever think they'd change that?

  • You can now follow me on Facebook too! Get on there and let me know what you want to see more of in the future! P.S. I heard that you guys want me to create a guild! Thumbs up if you want this!

  • @TubeElephant yes, I could do with a good guild.
