@MissCedarbridge1 Actually you'll find it's not called animal cruelty, it's called hunting or pest control. So long as the shooter is remotely competent, the kill will most likely be very quick and relatively painless, probably more so than the pheasant getting its throat torn out by a fox - that's just nature, and so is this. Like how a chimpanzee might use a stick as a tool to extract termites from a nest, a human might use a shotgun as a tool to extract a partridge from the air.

@MissCedarbridge1 It is a fact of nature that life consumes life. We (competent) hunters prefer to wild game to hormone laden, over-processed, flash frozen flesh you find in your local grocery. Killing animals is as much a part of our nature as is breathing. I'm not sure what religion you subscribe to, but I do know that animals are neither good nor evil. There is no "heaven" for animals, plants, microbes, virus' or bacteria
