  • this vid was great! but could you show us the rest of the rhythm you are playing?

  • Hello dandarth1, This video is an excerpt from my self-produced instructional DVD based on my article that appeared in November 2005, JUST JAZZ GUITAR. DVD is 18 minutes long and costs $15 (includes shipping). Payment is PayPal only through my email. DVD has Scene Selection so you can easily skip to any measure. Also included is a PDF file (sent via email) that contains a written detailed analysis of the arrangement, including the sheet music with chord diagrams, standard notation and TAB.

  • you just look like the pizzaman below my house

  • Beaytiful thank you (:

  • Hello Flamencanta, Thank you for your nice comment. Best wishes, Ron

  • +1 for the ferguson triad, the rhythm book alone could keep most busy for a year

  • Awsome you sound like kermit the frog! very helpful vidoe!

  • Hi perrymyincle, Not sure if you mean my talking or my playing (lol). To paraphrase what Kermit once said, "“Its not easy being (Freddie) Green”! Anyway, glad you find the video helpful. Best wishes, Ron

  • i listen too a lot of jazz

more than i probably should haha

    but i the thing is

    i transcribe solos and stuff

but ive never been able to figure out

how to get that jazzy essence over a blues prog.

    thanks for replying

  • how do you make a blues progression like this

sound jazzier like the improv part

    like what scales??

  • @seanieboy2725 Hello Seanieboy. If you mean soloing over this progression, I would suggest emulating someone whose style you enjoy. Blues soloing is so diverse. Listen to early Kenny Burrell and Grant Green. Try Barney Kessel and Wes Montgomery. I also like rockabilly players and of course the 3 Kings (BB, Albert, Freddie). In addition to my book, I also recommend the 3 blues books by Jim Ferguson and "The Blues Scales..." by Dan Greenblat. Hope this helps. Email me if more details needed. Ron

  • Would love to have the tab for the chord arrangement that you played. Rock it dude! Cool stuff

    Hooty

  • @hooty29340 Hello Hooty.Thank you for your nice comment. Please check out the full video description to see how to order the TAB/DVD/article. Ron

  • Frankly I dont like the "horn keys" Eb and Bb so I tend to tune my guitar one semitone lower and play in E and A instead. Nice video

  • Cool playing and theory, I think similar idea to lead voicings,To give a chord progression a feeling of movement. Thanks.

  • And i thought Larry Carlton always smiled.

    Great lesson , thanks alot.
