  • As the scanner of this roll, a slight correction - the pianist is Len Luscombe, not J. Lawrence Cook. Luscombe was the chief recording artist (and owner) of the Anglo-American Player Roll Co. in Melbourne, Australia. Many more available at my website, pianola.co.nz

    I am about to be 49 years old and at my Grandfathers in 1972, aged 10, I spent a holiday at his house. He had an old wind up 78 record player, with steel pickup needles and no adjustable sound (short of sticking an old kitchen cloth down the hole)

    He also had an old manual typerwriter, with blue and red ribbons. togeather we spent one whole day, jumping the record back and forth for him to type the lyrics for me. Sauerkraut and all.. thank-you Paul
