everyone need a chance especially burms, i got one she is 8 feet and 2 years old, i'm saving to make her a 12' x 16' cage to hold her all her life good. dont throw animals into the forest give them away or sell them before they get big and you cant keep them anymore...or simple buy a ball python instead they grow to 5 feet tops.
Yes, I am ten years old, snakes really do facinate me, I love to watch them slither across the grass. I would not mind seeing pictures of them, but, if I do see them in person, I would rather go and get someone to shoo it off. I saw one in my yard, all coiled up in the grass by my front yard porch steps. It really scared me, I held it too! I held the back of it, I was so scared, but now when I look back I laugh at it!
wow.. I want a albino burmese python sooo bad and i have 4 snakes right... im from new jersey too and I love snakes alot> I cant wait to get one but i havent found anyone sellin babies right now. I havent hit my luck yet but im crusing my finger.
I'm extremely happy for all you there at Forgotten Friends, and for wht your doing about education the people out there about these awesome creatures! Jasper and Casper are totaly captivating!!! Congrats!!
pets of the same kind that one seems brain dead and the other the same isnt (this proves nothing) so relax and try a little understanding and less arguing you might learn something from each other
ive had reptiles for over 20 years worked in my first pet store at 12 and been around them and owned many kinds since and i dont feel a need to a argue the difference between what you read in a book (based on someone facts) and personal experience , you can all look up this info if you really want to and see if your right or wrong but in most cases your not directly arguing the same thing but mild differences and angles of the same thing from different veiws, i have
They could and would easily bite, especially during feeding. They can be very sweet animals, especially when they're used to frequent handling. But they still have a tiny brain and can't form the same relationships as mammals. I love em but I don't assume they love me back!
Good question though, thanks for asking. Most big snakes can be very nice, but as soon as the smell of food hits the air, you can't trust them to know the difference between you and food.
wrong they can recognize their owners my freinds got a burm that was raised/misstreated as a baby by women and the snake will strike at every women she sees..they remember
Alright buddy whatever makes you happy :D Have you been keeping reptiles for the last 10 years such as someone like me? Have you studied about reptiles and their brain functions and what they are capable of? Or are you just going by what you "seen" your "Friends Burmese Python" do?
O did you? May I ask, what college was this that you went to? And What degree? If you actually did go to college for Herpetology, you would probably know how to spell it right... And secondly you would know the snakes brain lacks the enlarged cerebral hemispheres found in birds and mammals. The cerebral is the part of the brain, which contains the learning.
Trust me, we're not fighting.. If we were i would've given you one hard hit to the head and you would be out cold by now.. Im just stating my point of how you are wrong....
@bmxryd3r I know the comment is pretty old, but I just thought id state that snakes can tell the difference between people. Being an owner for some years, ive experienced it with more than one snake
VERY Nice and Healthy Burms you Have there, Can tell you take very good care of them. Where in New Jersey are you Based out of? Im in The South Jersey Area. Keep up the Great Work with the kids, Thats Just Awesome! 5*
nice very cute snakes they look very healthy and im glad that your orginsation is doing good. keep it up! also casper is the name of my ghost corn snake and jasper is the name of my sisters horse :]
We really don't recommend them as pets. They get 4 or 5 times as big as the ones in the video, which are smaller males. But if you have lots of space and resources and time and money they are cool snakes! And there are always some for adoption somewhere because so many people get 20 inch hatchlings and give them up when they become 8-12 feet (on their way to 20 ft).
Good to see someone doing a good deed. (: Awesome work you guys, its nice to see a couple of people teaching a handful at a time about these wonderful reptiles. Beautiful snakes by the way!

Yes many reptiles stop eating during brumation. It is not unusual for snakes to stop eating all winter and then pick it back up again in the spring.
rugbyman2000 3 years ago

i have a question for you who are experts
i have a burmes python and she does not want to eat, she does not have an infection or something like that,is it normal?
