Sure, the "Hot Dog Sorter" is now out of a job, but think about this example for a moment.
It's much more effective to have machines produce, sort, and package hot dogs than it is to pay workers to do these things manually.
These decreased production costs allow companies to pass these savings onto consumers, meaning less expensive hot dogs at your local supermarket (and just in time for the 4th of July too!).
