  • As soon as the typewriter started clicking, I immediately thought of the intro to The Prodigy Album 'Music for The Jilted Generation' :D

  • ...Un habitante de Carcosa...

  • Shit a pack of smokes is 8 bucks so I guess that wasnt in the budget

  • @TheRalphus666 the smokes were given free.. only about 3.. but no cost!

  • I fucking love this.

    I want that damn book.

  • @FalseandHomosexuaI you can get it for like 12 bucks off amizon

  • @FalseandHomosexuaI its like 12 bucks off amizon but I gotta warn you, don't fuck with that book. No one should ever want to rise an ancient God from his sleep. He'll be pissed.

  • The book was an old Welsh bible MIke, watch the "makign of" for more trivia, thanks for your kind comments.

  • Its a movie, get over it!

  • @tomkat2006 the name was actually created by H.P. Lovecraft look it up

  • @tomkat2006 Pretty cool movie for only twelve bucks budget. Bravo to you!

Question: What book did you use to make the Necronomicon in the movie? It looked pretty cool in its own right. I love old books : )

  • Praise the dark lord Cthulhu. Long may he reign.

  • not bad for a low budget

  • cthulhu fhtagn, ia,ia

  • Not bad...has potential...

  • cool as hell only 12$ great work!!!!!! you just got subbed!!!!!

  • that whisky must have been well rough for 6 quid

  • great movie, congrats! what cost you 12 bucks?

  • good enough to send me to reel two. For a home made effort it excels. The haters are just looking to show off. On to part two...

  • Hp lovecraft would be proud

  • Wow dude 12$ ya have some real talent man good job

  • I was just reading up on Lovecraft's book online and the real devil poped up! It was a box with blue outlines and white inside there was a text that read "Buy full Avira anti-virus and you'll get....." it was terrible! I HAD TO CLICK THE RED "X" D:

  • for 12 dollars this is extremely well made. well done!

  • so good i had to watch it twice!!!!

  • why those pentagrams and use of "satanism" in this movie. Im a BIG H.P. Lovecraft fan and I dont recall any these kind of things. He writed about use of black magic and "some sort of" satan worshipping but nothing else. But good movie though xD

  • The satanism debate have been removed here, simply put any symbols in the movie simply reflect the average joes view on things, that being pentagrams being evil, whether its true or not. Its not an informative film about religion, just a showpiece. Enjoy it for what it is :-)

  • @hankaligali cuthullu would make satan his bitch.

  • @AnthonyDaFox I would make them both my bitches :D, well no...Cthulhu would slave us all. Cthulhu Fhgtang

  • @AnthonyDaFox Fuckin right he would!!

  • especially since satan is an aspect of christianity, and is pretty much a christian demi-god. H.P Lovecraft's creations have nothing to do with christianity or satan.

  • @hankaligali The best part about Lovecrafts work is that it was made so that other authors could build on the mythos. There are some great works done in the lovecraft theme that where written by others.

  • @hankaligali He writed? lol

  • this is freaking awesome!!!!!

  • so satanism has something to do with the necromicon? and nice video it should be perfected...

  • no shit, sherlock, would you like to solve another mystery, like whats the number for 911?

  • dark and gloomy, spine chillin, really nice work

  • Awesome

  • I can't do better so 5 stars for the first time

  • Should be noted no professional equipment was used, not "no editing equipment at all", just a home PC. Acting can be improved yes but in fairness, everyone who's in the movie was their first time in front of a camera :)

  • how did you add in the effect with no editing software or equipment?

pretty decent, i would say good, filmaking although the acting could have been better in some parts.

i enjoyed it though. good use of lighting.

  • awesome :D

  • Love the vid! It just goes to show that a great movie doesn't need a bloated budget, just a solid idea and some know-how!

  • perfect , what can i say! congrats

  • really spot-on effort! love the landscape and the rain. honestly, i think its a bit too heavy with the effects whether theyre lo-fi or hi-fi. for instance the dirt & scratches seem too constantly applied just for effect. some of the landscape stuff could lose the superimpositions for more grit and realism. just my opinion... still an intense vision.

  • The Al Azif is a real book, as far as existing. Wether who wrote it was really who he said doesn't take away from the facts. It was written way before Islam when people there could cook up some crazy stuff like that without getting decapitated or tortured for it. HP Lovecraft ripped it off just like he rips off any occult or religious information he gets his hands on. He may be a creative writer and all, but hes still doing it, blending it into his literary world.

  • Even the Al Azif is a creation of Lovecraft. If anything, Lovecraft got his ideas of a dark grimoire from the Picatrix (a real book) or the Key of Solomon.

  • yeah. Someone actually wrote up a book called "Necronomicon", but it is a book about Abdul Alhazred. It isn't the book itself. If you look on the internet, you can find tonnes of sites that claim to have the text. I have printed it off and made my own Necronomicon. It looks right. Nice film. You used "adobe after effects" didn't you?

  • @aeohlm lol, it was a great fiction book created entirely by Lovecraft

  • @aeohlm people didn't get decapitated or tortured in islam not even Satan worshipers (who still exist in northern iraq and other regions) and the azeef couldn't be written before islam because arabs didn't have a history before Islam there is no reported arabic book ever before islam

  • @aeohlm well...every artist or writer takes ideas from other works, it's pretty hard to be totally original in this day n age. even sometimes people can come up with original ideas, only to later find someone else has done it before...

  • Good job man, continues doing good things like this, ok. sayonara my friend.

  • Some of this is good! It's too much like other horror movies, and doesn't take advantage of its independent freedom.

  • How so?

  • How so?

  • Its a fraction out due to compression

  • whos cares its a fake book anyways....its A FICTION book based on the already famous and some esoteric works as well.

he read alot of "John Dee,Agrippa, Aliphas Levi, Mathers, Woodman, Heindal, HT Thoth and many others.

    dont be fooled!!!.

I said it when he died......its all fake.

  • it´s a bad bad bad video and production, why??, U don´t know nothing about this kind oh histories and tales....

  • I disagree, but then again I would. I'll leave this comment on YouTube as to encourage debate about your view, so to any new or existing viewers, is this film , which was made by 2 people for $13, with no training or exopertise a "bad production" and what about the historic element, could we have fitted in ALL THAT history into a 8min film without being boring?

    The first comment please!

  • is there a possibility of downloading this film in a better quality ?

  • You can buy the dvd with extras if you like.

  • Campy goodness! I am in LOVE!

  • Wouldnt say the acting was camp, untrained actors, that what you get!

  • The video was o.k, we today are used to more effects etc. However, for the absence of hollywood eqipment... Spot On.

  • More effects in indy movies? Please bare in mind this was made when software packages that are available to the public was still quite rare.

  • An interesting project. What camera was it shot on? I am working on a new documentary about H.R. Giger. Check out my channel for the trailer! Tell me what you think.

  • Impressive. Especially when considering the limited resources and the difficulty of the topic. Good luck in future! And stay sane :) I'a C'thulhu!

  • Holy sh.. That was something! This one is like a breath of fresh horror atmosphere, more thrilling (if watching in the dark) than some professional movies.

  • thanks for your kind comments guys!

  • this is just great

  • Herr Director Tomkat2006

You don't have to be Nostradamus (or read the Necronomicon) to see that you have the potential of being a top class director in Hollywood or wherever you choose.

This 12$ movie looked better than many 12M$+ movies I've seen. 781108 was correct to point out Stuart Gordon's style and I might add a touch of Polanski.

    Hope you reach the stars

    Eddie

  • You can see my own low budget movies trailers on my channel.

  • I liked the old-fashioned horror atmosphere. It looks like a mix of Stuart Gordon, Sam Raimi and Tob Hooper early styles. The old-film effect powered this impression playing perfectly with the minimal and spooky soundtrack.

    Nicely done!

  • It says no budget (£6 is hardly a budget) no crew (just me), doesnt mention anything about not having any editing equipment...

  • Wow, for not having any editing equipment, the cuts are outstanding.
