This guy is unusually talented for an artist of this generation - and he has a quirky and unique image to go with the music. I can't believe he just put out his third album and no one has figured out how to give him a global launch - which he really deserves. Musicians like this shouldn't be "best kept secrets" for too long.
@SpiffilyPeachy : Hey, thanks a lot for the compliment. I am not sure I'd be a good critic at all. I am not a spontaneous writer (unfortunately!). Are you a Salem Al Fakir fan?
@pranavc YES, I am!! You know, I'm not so sure if I'm a very spontaneous writer either, I do love creative writing though. =) Of course you are a Salem Al Fakir fan. Just out of curiousity: what are you're favorite songs of his?
@SpiffilyPeachy : well, the song that really had me sold on Salem was "Good Song" (from the first album). The other one I really like off the first album is "Devil Look" (it's not really single-worthy but is a nice album track). The second album didn't really do it for me. Right now, I find myself playing "Virgin Mary" (a new track) a lot! What are your favorites?
I see! Sorry it took so long for me to reply. My favorites are "It's Only You (Part II)", "Dream Girl", "Cold Shower", "This is Who I Am", "Mirror", "Keep on Walking" and "Twelve Fingers". I'm crazy about them all. I have "It's Only You" as my ringtone. I haven't heard any of the other ones but I promise I will now.
@SpiffilyPeachy No worries! Definitely check out the other Salem tracks I recommended. I think you'd like them. There is another song called "Backseat". Most of the vocals are done by Salem Al Fakir but he goes under the name "Damien Adore" for that track. He does a good impression of Prince in that song.
do you really think salem speaks good english? cause Im swedish and this is quite bad compared to what i'm used to hear :p his swedish accent is so obvious..nevertheless, he is one hell of a musician!!
Salem al Fakir wrote and produced the music for the XC60 launch TV commercial. It's actually a remake of a song from his first album called "Only You". He re-arranged the song to better suit the film's structure and narrative.
oh isn't his laugh just wonderful and hilarious

It wasn't Salem I had in mind, and I don't mind accent (within limits). :)

True. We hear and read english everyday. Many tv shows in Sweden are from US and that are one reason too.
