@boydegg I think thats more a reflection on society than football though. We definately don't have the same respect for society and eachother as people did then. Today everybody would be going straight to a solicitor to try and sue for mental trauma.
Sadly, this is true. He was my dad and loved his day out at Wembley. He died peacefully with his daughter holding his hand. A question for VirtusNS. How did you know? Was it the obituary in the telegraph and you recognised the name? Best wishes.
I LOVE this film. Hard to imagine 200,000+ fans crammed into the old stadium - great to finally see some images & hear from someone who was actually there. And it sounds like the Wembley Spirit was strong from the start, lifting this boy to the front of the crowd. WEM-BER-LEY!
brilliant to see my great grandfather was Chairman of west ham FC from 1909 - 1935

This would have been equivalent to the Live 8 Concert in 2005 in sheer crowd scale. Incredible.

That's a great film. I think that many football fans in one place and behaving well just couldn't happen these days.

I suspect the 'VirtusNS' indicates an Old boy of the school (Virtus non Stemma being our old school motto), so via the OG network.
