The recession isn't going to end anytime soon. In fact, it's already effectively gotten worse. In the four months since he has said this shit, unemployment has increased from ~8% to 9.4%, and 400,000-700,000 jobs have been lost every month... Nothing is going to end this year. I will go so far as to admit I believe the fact that Bernanke said it renders any short-term positive outlooks on the economy automatically disproven.
