Wie mich das ankotzt das Deutschland immer auf diese 12 Jahre reduziert wird, klar ist das ein großer, dunkler Schatten auf der deutschen Geschichte aber irgendwann ist es auch mal gut! I went to Europe a few years ago, and i visited Germany, Austria, Itally, France and Switzerland. I must say, I found germany to be the most beautiful and amazing. Now i'm studying german in school and im rly happy.

I can not understand people insulting us as nazis, sure the past was terrible but we all learned from that and saved the force so noone can get the full force again. I always liked "deutchland ueber alles," its a very powerful opening line for any national anthem. Granted, German is a very sharp language, so the lyrics sound powerful no matter how they're written. You have so much pride in your country its admirable. I love everything about Germany and I'm doing some of research projects for school around its history. I learned that the original song was not intended to be interpreted as Germany is dominant above all others etc etc but instead that Germany should be the first thing in the hearts of its citizens, was the song changed because it became misinterpreted after world war 2?

Germany and America are united with our problem of foreign criminals and terrorists ruining our once great nations. The German National Anthem is beautiful and speaks of Brotherhood for all. Most Germans during the War knew nothing of the work camps which now distort history. In hard times, the Nazis brought prosperity to Germans, like the Socialist programs of FDR in America. I have found Germans to be generally anti-American while Americans simply don't know or don't care about about Germany.

My favourite anthem, it's very sad that some people can't understand that germans changed, they are not nazis! When I was there all of the germans were very friendly and helpful and they have got a wonderful country and culture.

Und ausserdem wurde dieses Lied zwischen 187? und 189? geschrieben und hat somit keinerlei Nazi Gedankengut in sich....

Hii I'm a german too and i can say that everyone is welcome here ! drink our beer, party with the great people, you will see that all people are friendly. I can not understand people insulting us as nazis, sure the past was terrible but we all learned from that and saved the force so noone can get the full force again. Don't forget the mistakes of other nations too. And dont argument with the fact like it sounds patriot and all, other anthems too.. its only say that we wanna keep our culture :)

I first found and commented on this video 2+ years ago, and I still keep returning to it, as it's simply an awesome anthem. Too bad I can't give it 5/5 anymore, but a 'Thumbs up' will have to do I guess. :)

I grew up in Germany, and I am a proud German. But I am NOT a NAZI by any means. Nazis are evil and what they did is unforgivable. And NO I am not Juish. I just do not belive in people judging others. And yes I have blue eyes and all that, but it is so wrong to think that other human beings are less just because they have differnt skin, eyes or hair. I always liked "deutchland ueber alles," its a very powerful opening line for any national anthem. Granted, German is a very sharp language, so the lyrics sound powerful no matter how they're written. People keep touting the US anthem, remember its lyrics were written by a shell-shocked poet then set to the tune of an old British drinking song. Welcome to America!

Die deutsche Nationalhymne ist viel älter als das dritte Reich. Ursprünglich wurde sie geschrieben um das deutsche Vaterland zu einen, welches zu jener Zeit aus vielen kleineren Staten bestand und zwei großen Königreichen ( Preußen und Österreich)...
Deutschland über alles bedeutet nichts anderes, als das die höchste Priorität für alle Deutschen sein sollte, das Land zu vereinen.

Das, was du da hast ist nur die 3. Strofe, die ersten 2 "Deutschland über alles" und "Deutsche Frauen, Deutsche treue, Deuscher Wein und deutscher Sang" sind noch heute Teil der deutschen Nationalhymmne, die 3. Strofe wurde nur hinzugefügt nach dem 2. Weltkrieg. -.-
Die Nazis haben überwiegend ein anderes Lied gesungen, das heute verboten ist.

You have so much pride in your country its admirable. I love everything about Germany and I'm doing some of research projects for school around its history. I learned that the original song was not intended to be interpreted as Germany is dominant above all others etc etc but instead that Germany should be the first thing in the hearts of its citizens, was the song changed because it became misinterpreted after world war 2?

I am an American born in Wiesbaden in 1964. I was brought here to the U.S. kicking and screaming. The last time I visited Germany was in 1991 after leaving Saudi Arabia and the Gulf War as an Air Force enlisted man. I'm doing everything I can to return.

Germany and America are united with our problem of foreign criminals and terrorists ruining our once great nations. The German National Anthem is beautiful and speaks of Brotherhood for all. Most Germans during the War knew nothing of the work camps which now distort history. In hard times, the Nazis brought prosperity to Germans, like the Socialist programs of FDR in America. I have found Germans to be generally anti-American while Americans simply don't know or don't care about about Germany.
